Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2023. Ratified on March 20, 2020. Signed on March 10, 2020.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2020: 1.5%
Effective April 1, 2021: 2%
Effective April 1, 2022: 2.75%
Shift premium: 1 overtime shift of pay when employee’s regular scheduled working hours are changed by company (starting or finishing times) and notice is given before noon of last scheduled day off; 2 overtime shifts for notice provided after noon. $0.96 per hour rising 2 steps to $1.01 per hour for day shifts (previously $0.95 per hour). $1.98 per hour rising 2 steps to $2.07 per hour for afternoon shifts (previously $1.95 per hour). $3.51 per hour rising 2 steps to $3.68 per hour for nights shifts (previously $3.46 per hour). 10% per hour above incumbent’s current wage rate or current pay structure, whichever is greater, for relief operations supervisor. 5% per hour above mechanic specialist wage rate for maintenance-crew leader.
Paid holidays: 11 days plus holiday on last Friday of March.
Vacations with pay: 10 hours per month, maximum 15 days, to start, 15 days after 2 years, 20 days after 6 years, 25 days after 15 years, 30 days after 24 years.
Overtime: Double time for all hours worked in excess of normal number of daily hours; for all hours worked on days of rest. Triple time for work on paid holiday in following situations: for non-shift workers more than 7.5 hours; for shift workers more than 8 hours. Double time when employee is assigned to work on different crew. Employees may bank overtime, cumulative maximum of 5 shifts (37.5 hours) per year.
Meal allowance: Employer will provide 1 meal for any employee who performs unscheduled continuous work greater than 10 hours plus additional meal for each subsequent period of continuous work of 4 hours.
Medical benefits: Employee is eligible to participate in company flex benefit plan on first of month following 3 months of employment, which includes life insurance, AD&D, LTD, extended health, dental, vision care.
Pension: Employee is eligible to participate in company pension plan on first of month following 3 months of regular employment.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (parents, stepparents, brothers, sisters, employee’s spouse, common-law spouse, children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren). 3 days for death of grandparent, spouse’s grandparents, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle.
Seniority – recall rights:
Call-in pay: Minimum 6 hours of pay at base rate or applicable overtime pay for all hours worked, whichever is greater, for emergency or maintenance work (except where employee has been called into plant within 3 hours from start of regular shift and continues into regular shift, in which case normal overtime provisions will apply). Employer will pay to employee who lives outside 16-kilometre radius of plant, allowance at current company rate per kilometre if driving car or will provide transportation for employee.
Probationary period: 180 consecutive calendar days.
Severance: 3 weeks of pay (112.5) hours at regular rate plus 3 weeks of pay at employee’s regular rate of pay for each year of service, maximum 52 weeks.
Safety shoes: Employer will reimburse employees 100% of cost for CSA-approved safety footwear including inserts, maximum $375 for first pair (previously maximum $225 for first pair); $150 for second pair; $150 for third pair.

Editor’s notes: Humanitarian fund: Employee will contribute $20 per year to fund and employer will match employee contribution to Unifor humanitarian fund. Personal days: All employees will be given 4 personal days per year with no carryover to following year.
