Renewal agreement: Effective March 1, 2019 to Feb. 28, 2026. Signed on Feb. 12, 2019.
Paid holidays: 9 days ($50 payment for each general holiday).
Vacations with pay: 1 week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 3 years, 3 weeks after 5 years (includes $300 per-week payment).
Medical benefits: Employee pays $90 per month for health and welfare benefits, after 60 days of service.
Dental: 90% reimbursement for basic services. 50% reimbursement for major restorative services after deductible of $25 per individual (maximum $50 per family), maximum $1,000 per individual per year.
Vision: Coverage of 1 pair of regular lenses, 1 set of frames (maximum $25), 1 set of contact lenses (maximum $40), prescribed contact lenses for certain corneal disabilities where regular glasses are unsuitable (maximum $200).
Paramedical: Maximum $150 per person (maximum $300 per family) per year for chiropractors, naturopaths.
Weekly indemnity: Coverage on first day of accident, eighth day of sickness, $462 per week (maximum 85% of net earnings) for 52 weeks.
LTD: Coverage of $1,000 per month, after 52 weeks waiting period.
AD&D: Coverage of $25,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $50,000.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (including in-laws).
Seniority – recall rights: 12 consecutive months with less than 2 years of service; 24 consecutive months with more than 2 years of service.
Probationary period: 30 calendar days of employment.
Sample rates of per-load pay (current):
Owner-operators: 57% of revenue generated by load; 90% of time for waiting time; 55% on suspended orders; 75% of monies collected for in-transit moves.
Editor’s notes: Hearing aids: 1 hearing aid in any period of 24 consecutive months (maximum $250). Medical examinations: Employer will pay for all examinations for owner-operators with more than 2 years’ seniority. If employer elects to exercise its right to select its own medical examiner or physician for medical examination of owner-operator with less than 2 years’ seniority, employer will pay for same. Weekend-availability premium: $2,200 per year to owner-operators who make themselves available for weekend dispatches and when called, accept such dispatches. Owner-operator must be available minimum 26 weekends within each 12-month period to qualify and be eligible for payment (12:01 a.m. Saturday through to midnight Sunday).
