Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2016, to Jan. 31, 2021. Signed on April 22, 2016.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Feb. 1, 2016: $0.35 per hour.
Effective Feb. 1, 2017: $0.35 per hour.
Effective Feb. 1, 2018: $0.35 per hour.
Effective Feb. 1, 2019: $0.35 per hour.
Effective Feb. 1, 2020: $0.40 per hour.
Shift premium: Training premium: $0.35 per hour, when training new employee. Off-shift premium: $0.55 per hour for work between 4 p.m. and 6 a.m. Weekend premium: $1.25 per hour. First-aid premium: $0.25 per hour. Cold-work premium: $0.30 per hour for working any shift in conditions below 2 degrees Celsius. Lead hands: Greater of job level 4 or $0.20 per hour.
Paid holidays: 9 days, plus 2 floater days. Remembrance Day off for 20 most senior employees. Double time and one-half if working on statutory holiday.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 17 years, 6 weeks after 24 years, 7 weeks after 30 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 40 hours per week, double time after 3 hours. Double time on Sunday. Time and one-half for first 4 hours on Saturday, double time thereafter. Maximum 40 hours banked. Banked time may be taken off only in increments of 4 hours or to be paid on next pay period.
Meal allowance: $10 if worker does not receive meal break during emergency work.
Medical benefits: 100% premium paid by the employer.
Dental: 80% basic dental coverage, recall exams 1 every 9 months. 60% major dental coverage. Maximum $1,500 per year coverage for basic and major. 50% reimburse for orthodontic, $1,500 maximum lifetime.
Paramedical: Physiotherapist, psychologist: $750 per year.
Weekly indemnity: 66.67% or regular wages, maximum 25 weeks.
LTD: Premiums paid by employees, 65% coverage, maximum $3,000 per month.
AD&D: $30,000 benefit.
Pension: Defined contribution plan. Employer contributes 3%, maximum 2,080 hours per year. Employee contributes 2%, maximum 2,080 hours per year.
Bereavement leave: 5 days off for death of spouse or child. 3 days for death of extended family (mother, father, sister, brother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepparents, stepchildren, grandparents, grandchildren). I day for death of grandparent-in-law.
Call-in pay: 4 hours' minimum.
Probationary period: 480 hours.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 6 months for verbal warnings, 12 months for written warnings.
Severance: For 1 year, 1 week's pay; 2 years, 1½ weeks’ pay; 3 years, 2 weeks’ pay; 4 years, 2½ weeks’ pay; 5 years, 3 weeks’ pay; 6 years, 3½ weeks’ pay; 7 years, 4½ weeks’ pay; 8 years, 5½ weeks’ pay; 9 years, 6½ weeks’ pay; 10 years, 7½ weeks’ pay; 11 and over, 1½ weeks’ pay for each year of service above 10 years.
Safety shoes: $175 per year for employees opting not to wear company-supplied rubber boots. Part-time employees’ allowance is 50% of full time employee’s allowance.
Uniforms/clothing: $400 per year for freezer apparel. $220 per year for pack off and export jack operators clothing.
Tool allowance: $300 per year.

Editor’s notes: Pork industry: If the pork industry is affected by an epidemic, the company and the union will meet to discuss and implement ways to maximize the work hours in the plant. Cameras: The union will agree for cameras to be installed to investigate instances of sabotage and animal welfare issues. Part-time limit: Maximum 10 part-time employees in the shipping department. Early retirement benefit: Employees hired prior to Feb. 1, 2003, who will be 55, may retire (minimum 10 years’ service), $500 per month until 60.
