Renewal agreement: Effective July 23, 2022 to July 22, 2026. Ratified on Aug. 5, 2022. Signed on Feb. 13, 2023.
Paid holidays: 10 days. Employees will also be provided with 2 floater days per year.
Vacations with pay: 120 hours or 6% to start, 160 hours or 8% after 8 years, 200 hours or 10% after 15 years, 240 hours or 12% after 26 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 40 hours per week; 80 hours biweekly.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: $350 every 24-month period (previously $300 every 24-month period) for each covered person; includes contact lenses.
Paramedical: $500 per practitioner for each covered person once OHIP maximum is satisfied (chiropractor, chiropodist, massage therapist, naturopath, osteopath, physiotherapist, podiatrist, psychologist speech therapist, acupuncturists).
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse including common-law, same-sex partner, employee and spouse’s parent, stepparent, foster-parent, child, stepchild, foster-child, spouse of child, grandparent, stepgrandparent, grandchild, stepgrandchild, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepbrother, stepsister). 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew to attend funeral. 2 additional days, without pay, to attend funeral where distance to funeral is greater than 800 kilometres away from Casino Ajax and Pickering Casino Resort. Employer reserves right to request proof of bereavement.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months after layoffs.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at applicable hourly rate.
Probationary period: 520 actual hours worked in any 18 consecutive months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for discipline; 36 months for serious misconduct. 6 months for coach and counsels and other daily supervisory corrections which are not disciplinary and may not be grieved.
Safety shoes: $150 each year (previously $130 each year) for safety shoes when employee is required to wear safety shoes. $150 each year for 2 pairs of safety footwear when employee of food and beverage kitchen department is required to wear safety footwear.
