Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2025.
Shift premium: $2.25 per hour for evening shifts. $2.98 per hour for night shifts provided that hours exceed 2 hours if worked in conjunction with the day shift.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days for each completed month of service with pay in the amount of 6% of gross earnings for employees with less than 1 year of service. 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 3 years, 5 weeks after 11 years, 6 weeks after 20 years, 7 weeks after 25 years.
Overtime: One and one-half times their regular straight time hourly rate.
Meal allowance: $6 if the hospital is unable to provide a hot meal.
Medical benefits: 100% of the billed premiums towards coverage under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan, the Liberty Health Semi-Private Plan or comparable coverage with another carrier paid by employer.
Dental: 75% of billed premiums toward coverage under the Liberty Health Dental #9 Dental Plan paid by employer.
Sick leave: Sick leave credits accumulated.
STD: Short-term sick leave plan provided by employer, for full time nurses only.
LTD: 75% of billed premiums toward coverage under the long-term disability portion of the 1992 Hospitals of Ontario Disability Income Plan paid by employer, for full time nurses only.
Life insurance: Hospitals of Ontario Voluntary Life Insurance Plan.
Pension: Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 4 consecutive working days off following the death of an immediate family member.
Seniority – recall rights: 36 months.
Probationary period: 70 tours.
Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):
Starting pay - $37.93, up one step to $39.07.
1 Year - $38.88, up one step to $40.05.
Editor’s notes: A nurse is required to have a renewed Certificate of Registration on or before February 15 of each year.
