Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2013, to Jan. 1, 2016.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2014: 3%

Effective Jan. 1, 2015: 3%

Paid holidays: 11 days. Time and one-half for all trips made on Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 5 years, 5 weeks after 8 years, 6 weeks after 18 years. Vacations limited during July and August.

Medical benefits: Prairie Teamsters Health and Welfare Plan. 50% coverage of the Alberta Health and Wellness premiums. Effective Jan. 1, 2013: employer pays 80%, driver pays 20%.

Pension: Prairie Teamsters Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: Up to 4 days for immediate family, including spouse, mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren, common-law spouse, stepmother or stepfather.

Seniority – recall rights: 1 year.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay.

Probationary period: 3 months.

Uniforms/clothing: Company provides 1 jacket, 2 ties, 1 cap, 1 three-in-one winter jacket, 3 pairs of pants, 3 shirts. Additional $300 per year allowance for approved uniform items, up to $150 may be carried over from year-to-year, or used toward safety footwear.

Sample rates of pay, current:

Drivers, 3-hour trip: $101.72 per trip

Drivers, hourly: $33.44 per hour

Editor’s notes: Portability: Drivers allowed opportunities to transfer from one division to another, as required. Forced work: Time and one-half for employees required to work on their day off. Living allowance: Monthly payment to offset living costs for drivers residing in Fort McMurray or Wood Buffalo. $1,300 per month effective upon ratification, $1,325 per month effective Jan. 1, 2015.
