Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2021. Ratified on May 27, 2019. Signed on Dec. 10, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Clerical staff

Effective Sept. 1, 2019: $0.35 per hour

Effective Sept. 1, 2020: $0.35 per hour

Maintenance staff

Effective July 1, 2019: $0.35 per hour

Effective July 1, 2020: $0.35 per hour

Shift premium: Educational assistant assigned to class in absence of teacher, for more than one-half- day, will be paid as study supervisor which is educational assistant level 1. $1.23 per hour for shop lead-hands.

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 16 years, 6 weeks after 26 years for 12-month employees. 4% to start, 6% after 2 years, 8% after 8 years, 10% after 16 years, 12% after 26 years for all other employees. All vacation leave must be taken within 12-month period in which it is earned.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be accumulated and taken as time off in lieu. Unused time will be paid out on Aug. 15 of each year.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. All eligible employees will be provided $400 health spending account, pro-rated to start date and paid 1/12 monthly. Effective Sept. 1, 2020: $600.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Sick leave: 2 days per month of service (4 days per school year may be used for family dependant illness and appointments; 3 days per school year (previously 2 days per school year) may be used for personal leave). Time may be accumulated, maximum 60 days. Employees who are laid off will retain accumulated leave for 120 days; if not recalled within that period, leave will be cancelled.

Life insurance: Employee pays 100% of premiums.

Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan. Employer contributes 50% of employee’s contribution to RRSP, maximum 5% of employee’s salary, for those not participating in Local Authorities Pension Plan.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoff; 18 months if employee is absent from work on WCB or LTD claim.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at time and one-half basic hourly rate when employee is called in for emergency.

Probationary period: 60 working days or 6 months, whichever comes first.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for employee who has been subjected to disciplinary action.

Uniforms/clothing: Employees will receive annual safety and equipment allowance of $300 to be paid on January paycheque.
