Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2016, to Dec. 31, 2017. Signed on Jan. 7, 2016.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 2%

Shift premium: 75¢ per hour for maintenance employees. 75¢ per hour for weekend work. $1.25 per hour for night shift.

Paid holidays: 11 days. Time and one-half for all hours worked on a named holiday. Double time and one-half for all employees working an average of 16 hours per week or less.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 16 years, 6 weeks after 24 years, 7 weeks after 30 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 40 per week. Time off may be taken in lieu of compensation.

Medical benefits: $200 per person per year for health spending account.

Dental: 80% coverage for basic, 50% coverage for other services. Up to $1,500 per year. Up to $1,500 lifetime maximum for orthodontics.

Vision: $200 per person every 2 years.

Sick leave: Up to 120 hours per year, total maximum of 1200 hours.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for the death of employee’s parent, spouse, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild of employee or spouse, or any relative residing with employee. One-half day to serve as pallbearer.

Seniority – recall rights: 1 year.

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at overtime rate.

Probationary period: 3 months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.

Dietary aide: $16.30 per hour, rising after 36 months to $18.54

Housekeeping aide: $16.30, rising after 36 months to $18.54

Dietary aide (evening): $17.85, rising after 36 months to $20.49

Activities co-ordinator: $17.85, rising after 36 months to $20.49

Dietary aide (night): $18.67, rising after 36 months to $21.47

Relief cook: $19.98, rising after 36 months to $22.86

Cook: $20.86, rising after 36 months to $23.95

Chef: $22.22, rising after 36 months to $25.48

Maintenance I: $22.76, rising after 36 months to $26.35

Maintenance II: $24.71, rising after 36 months to $28.50

Maintenance III: $27.15, rising after 36 months to $31.43

Personal care aide: $19.11, rising after 36 months to $22.56

Floater: $17.64, rising after 36 months to $20.41

Editor’s notes: Staff meetings: Employees not scheduled to work but required to be in attendance for staff meetings will be paid for a minimum of 3 hours at $11.20 per hour. Compassionate care leave: Up to 8 weeks unpaid.
