Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2022. Ratified on Sept. 24, 2019. Signed on Oct. 31, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2019: 0.5%

Effective April 1, 2020: 0.5%

Effective April 1, 2021: 0.5%

Shift premium: $2.75 per hour for work on shift where majority of shift falls between 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. (premium will be paid in addition to all overtime hours between 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.). $3.50 per hour for work on shift where majority of shift falls between 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. (premium will be paid in addition to all overtime hours between 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.). $2.50 per hour for work on shift where majority of shift falls within 64-hour period beginning 3 p.m. on Friday (premium will be paid in addition to all overtime hours within 64-hour period beginning 3 p.m. on Friday).

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 15 days or 6% after 1 year, 20 days or 8% after 8 years, 25 days or 10% after 15 years, 30 days or 12% after 15 years,

Overtime: Double time for all work after 7.5, 8 or 12 hours per day or 75, 80 or 84 hours per 2-week period. Time may be accumulated, maximum 37.5, 40 or 42 hours. Time off not taken by March 31 in any year will be paid out. Request to carry over lieu time will be submitted by employee before March 31 and will not be unreasonably denied.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Coverage of 80%. Employer will provide health spending account of $300 per year to all full-time employees.

Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Coverage of 80%.

Vision: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Coverage of $200 every 2 years.

Paramedical: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Coverage of $500.

Sick leave: 12 hours for every 160 hours worked (0.075 hours for every hour worked), maximum 90 days accrued.

LTD: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Coverage of 70% of basic monthly earnings, 120 calendar days elimination period.

Pension: Employer will match employee contribution, maximum 3% of employee’s gross earnings, into employer-setup voluntary RRSP for benefit-eligible employees.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, husband, wife, son, daughter, stepchildren, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, legal guardian, common-law spouse, same-sex partner, stepparent, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents of employee or employee’s spouse, grandchild, fiancé. 1 day for death of another relative, close friend.

Seniority – recall rights: 18 months following layoff.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ at basic rate or applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater.

Probationary period: 500 hours worked or 6 months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for any record of disciplinary action.

Severance: 2 weeks per year of service (will not be paid out to employee who resigned, retired, failed to return to work when recalled or whose employment was properly terminated).

Mileage: $0.44 per kilometre (previously $0.40 per kilometre) if employee uses personal vehicle on employer business or is called back to work.

Full staffing: When full staffing complement for shift is not reached for cook, kitchen prep, health-care aide within 1 hour of beginning of shift, those employees working shift, maximum 2 employees, will be compensated at time and one-half times for all hours worked without full staffing complement. Paid orientation: Employer will provide paid orientation of maximum 3 complete shifts for new employees; 1 shift for each different shift worked. Proof of illness: When employee must pay fee for proof of illness, medical treatment, attendance at medical appointments, completion of medical fitness for work certificate forms, fee will be reimbursed by employer, maximum $30.
