Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2022. Ratified on Jan. 20, 2020. Signed on Feb. 27, 2020.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 1%
Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 0.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 0.5%
Shift premium: $2.75 per hour to employees working shift where majority of shift falls between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $3.50 per hour to employees working shift where majority of shift falls between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $2.50 per hour to employees working shift where majority of shift falls within 64-hour period beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.5, 8 or 12 hours per day or all work after 75, 80 or 84 hours per 2-week period. May be accumulated, maximum 42 hours, and taken as time off in lieu. Time off not taken by March 31 in any year will be paid out.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Employer will provide $300 per year for health spending account.
Dental: Coverage of 70% for basic, 100% for accidental injuries.
Paramedical: $300 per year for chiropractors, physiotherapists, podiatrists, naturopaths, osteopaths, psychologists/social workers, speech therapists, massage therapists.
Sick leave: Employee will be given credit of 2.59% of hours worked as sick leave from date of employment.
AD&D: Coverage of $25,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $25,000.
Pension: Employer will provide voluntary RRSP for all regular employees. Participating employees may contribute to RRSP and employer will match employee’s contribution, maximum 3% of employee’s gross earnings.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, husband, wife, son, daughter, stepchildren, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, legal guardian, common-law spouse, same-sex partner, stepparent, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents of employee or employee’s spouse, grandchild, fiancé. 2 additional days, without pay, when necessary for employee to travel 300 kilometres or more 1-way to attend funeral or memorial service. 1 day, with pay, for death of another relative, close friend.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months following layoff.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of basic rate or applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 500 hours worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for employee who has been subjected to disciplinary action.
Severance: 2 weeks per year of service if permanent employee has not been recalled within 18 months after layoff.
Mileage: $0.50 per kilometre for employee who uses personal vehicle on employer business.
