Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2023 to Jan. 31, 2027. Signed on Aug. 1, 2023.
Shift premium: $1.10 per hour for lead-hands. $0.20 per hour over CR3 rate for painter if qualified in both painting and sandblasting skills. $1 per hour while acting in that capacity for employee in charge of mobile repair unit. $1.40 per hour (previously $1.20 per hour), $1.75 per hour (previously $1.25 per hour) respectively for afternoon and night shifts.
Paid holidays: 12 days, plus 1 additional holiday designated by employer.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours of overtime required following completion of regular 8-hour shift, after which double time will be paid for work performed on that day. Double time if hours paid at time and one-half are greater than 8 hours in workweek. Time and one-half for first 8 hours of work performed on sixth consecutive day worked; double time for hours worked after 8 hours on sixth consecutive day and for all hours worked on Sunday.
Meal allowance: $10 in lieu of lunch for employee who continues working for more than 2 hours beyond regular shift.
Vision: $275 (previously $250) for purchase made during any rolling 24 months.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, children. 3 days for death of brother, sister, mother, mother-in-law, father, father-in-law, grandchild. Additional 2 days if travel greater than 300 kilometres (1-way) is required to attend funeral. 1 day to attend funeral of grandfather, grandfather-in-law, grandmother, grandmother-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 consecutive months on layoff.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay at overtime or straight-time rate, whichever is greater amount.
Probationary period: 90 work days or shifts.
Severance: 1-time payment amounting to 2 week’s pay for each year of service, maximum 52 weeks for employees with 1 or more years of service.
Safety shoes: $275 per year (previously $250 per year) for safety boots or safety boot repair.
Mileage: $0.25 per kilometre — based on known kilometre distance from Edmonton repair location to work site — when employee reports to Edmonton repair shop before travelling to another work site using own vehicle.
