Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2016, to April 30, 2021. Signed on May 1, 2016.

Wage adjustments: 
Effective year 2: 2% 
Effective year 3: 2% 
Effective year 4: 2.25% 
Effective year 5: 2.5%

Shift premium: $0.25 per hour for working afternoon shift.

Paid holidays: 10 days. Employee paid 9 hours for each holiday. 

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 11 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 18 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half after 44 hours per week. Time and one-half for working on sixth consecutive day in one week. Double time for working seventh consecutive day. Time and one-half for working more than 9 hours per day. Time and one-half for working on a holiday.

Medical benefits: 100% premiums paid by employer. Prescription co-pay of $5 per prescription

Vision: $250 per person every 12 months. Eye exams at 100% reimbursement, maximum of $75 every 24 months.

Weekly indemnity: $384 per week, maximum 26 weeks, commencing after 16 weeks off. 

Paramedical: Chiropractor/massage therapist: $25 per visit, maximum $200 per year.

AD&D: $40,000 benefit.

Life insurance: $40,000 benefit.

Pension: Progressive Waste Solutions Pension Plan for Canadian Employees.

Bereavement leave: 5 days off for death of spouse or child. 3 days for death in extended family (mother, father, sister, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, stepchild, grandparents, stepparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law). I day for death of grandparent-in-law. Leave of absence if requested, of 1 week.

Probationary period: 90 days. 

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.

Safety shoes: $400 per year.

Uniforms/clothing: $400 per year.

Editor’s notes: Birthday pay: 9 hours' pay for employee’s birthday and opportunity to take that day off. Attendance bonus: If employee has perfect attendance during a month, 3 hours’ bonus pay. This may be accumulated, but will be paid out in December. Licence test: 2 hours off with pay to write licence qualification.
