Renewal agreement: Effective Aug. 25, 2018 to Aug. 24, 2023. Ratified on July 26, 2019. Signed on Oct. 24, 2019.
Shift premium: $0.80 per hour for all hours as dealer who is qualified on craps. $0.80 per hour for dealers who are also classified as floor supervisor or houseman.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 10 days or 4% to start, 15 days or 6% after 5 years, 20 days or 8% after 15 years. Employees may carry over maximum 2 weeks of vacation to following year but vacation must be used in year it was carried forward.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours in single shift; after 44 hours in 6 days of work per 7-day period beginning on Sunday for regular shifts. Time and one-half for all work after scheduled shift length; after 88 hours in 6 days of work per 14-day period beginning on Sunday for regular shifts.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for Alberta Health Care coverage (after 3 months of service). Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums for extended health-care coverage.
Dental: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums.
AD&D: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer will contribute $0.10 per regular hour worked (matched by employee) on behalf of all non-probationary, full-time employees, to RRSP. Amount will be increased by $0.05 in each year of contract, effective Jan. 1.
Bereavement leave: 3 days off, (1 day with pay; 2 days without pay) for death in immediate family (spouse (common-law spouse provided they have cohabited at same address for minimum 1 year or have indicated relationship on most recent income-tax return), mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sons, daughters, siblings, stepchildren, grandparents). Funeral leave: 1 day when funeral is in-town; maximum 3 days when funeral is out-of-town but within province; maximum 5 days if funeral is out of province; maximum 14 days if funeral is out of country.
Seniority – recall rights: 120 days for layoffs.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay on call-in unless call-in is contiguous to scheduled shift.
Probationary period: 420 hours or 3 months, whichever is greater.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.
Severance: Pay will be administered in accordance with Alberta Employment Standards Code, but pay will not be applicable for layoff of employee unless employee’s right of recall expires.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 1 free uniform shirt per year per employee on anniversary of collective agreement (Aug. 25) for following positions: dealers, slot attendants, slot cashiers, porters, bartenders, servers, cocktail servers, customer service. Free replacement of shirt may be provided with management approval (for employees who have worked minimum of 12 months). Employer may also provide $50 uniform allowance for employee to purchase item in accordance with uniform standards.

Editor’s notes: Staff meetings: If employee is directed by employer to attend staff meeting that has not been scheduled within 1 hour contiguous to scheduled shift, employee will be paid minimum of 3 hours of pay. Parking: Employer will establish designated parking areas on site for employees on first-come, first-served basis. Employer will designate minimum 50 stalls for employees. Between midnight and 9 a.m., employees may park vehicles in any non-handicapped stall that is available. After midnight, employees may move vehicles to closer proximity to casino. Meal discounts: Employees will receive 25% discount on food orders for personal consumption in casino restaurant. Any restaurant item that may be provided to employee, at minimal or no cost, will be exempt from this provision. Training bonuses: $300 for trainees on poker, roulette, tile pai gow; $450 for trainees on craps.
