Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2026.

Shift premium: $1.05 per hour for any full shift finishing beyond 8:00 p.m.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 10 days to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 7 years, 5 weeks after 15 years.

Meal allowance: $11 for any employee who works 3 hours or more of overtime with their regular workday.

Medical benefits: Employer will cover 100% of premiums for Ontario Health Insurance Plan and equivalent to Sun Life Health Extended Health Plan.

Dental: Equivalent to Sun Life Health Dental Plan.

Vision: $450.00 per family member every 24 months for eyeglasses and contact lenses.

Paramedical: Combined maximum of $2,000.00 per calendar year for Registered Practitioners in Ontario for chiropractor, homeopathic doctor, naturopath, acupuncturist, podiatrist, chiropodist, psychologist, psychotherapist, master of social work

Sick leave: 1- and 1/2-days sick leave credits for each completed continuous month of service.

LTD: 70% of the employee’s regular earnings to a maximum benefit of $5000.00 per month with an own occupation provision for 2 years from the date of disability with a 17 week qualifying period.

Life insurance: Group Life Insurance Plan (equivalent to 200% of annual earnings to the nearest $500.00).

Pension: Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System Plan.

Bereavement leave: 5 consecutive working days with pay based on crew/shift value.

Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours work, or 3 hours pay. Minimum 4 hours work, or 4 hours pay for holidays or days of rest.

Probationary period: 90 days.

Safety shoes: One pair of shoes and one pair of boots for Conventional and MobilityPLUS operators.

Uniforms/clothing: Uniform provided for Conventional and MobilityPLUS operators.

Tool allowance: $1100.00 annual tool allowance.

Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):

Conventional Bus Operators, Specialized Transit Vehicle Operators - Training rate: $28.34, up 2 steps to $29.64.

Conventional Bus Operators, Specialized Transit Vehicle Operators - Top rate: $34.57, up 2 steps to $36.15.

Automotive Service Attendant – Min: $30.74, up 2 steps to $32.15.

Truck & Coach Technician – Min: $39.36 up 2 steps to $41.16.

Editor’s notes: Permanent full-time employees may use paid family sick and/ or unpaid family sick provided the total amount does not exceed 10 days, to a maximum of 80 hours.
