Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2016: 2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 2% (3% for cooks, dietary aides, housekeeping aides, supervisors, activity aide/bus drivers, receptionists).
Shift premium: $2 per hour (previously $1.75 per hour) for all hours worked on evening shift between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $2.50 per hour (previously $2.25 per hour) for all hours worked on night shift between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $2 per hour (previously $1.75 per hour) for all hours worked on weekend day shift 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. $3 per hour (previously $2.75 per hour) for all hours worked on weekend evening shift between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $4 per hour (previously $3.75 per hour) for all hours worked on weekend night shift between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $1.50 per hour (previously $1.25 per hour) for all hours worked between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. $2 per hour (previously $1.75 per hour) for all hours worked between midnight Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday. $0.65 per hour for licensed practical nurse acting as preceptor for students in licensed-practical-nurse program. $0.65 per hour for employee (unit clerk/ health care aide) acting as mentor (preceptor) for students in (unit clerk/health care aide) program. $1 per hour for employees working as in-charge or responsibility role. $1 per hour for health-care aide assigned to administer medications.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floater holiday to be determined by employee.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 8 years. Maximum 5 days per year may be carried forward after 2 years of service.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.5 hours per day or 75 hours per week. Double time after the first 2 hours.
Meal allowance: If employee works double shift, access to meal will be provided.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
Dental: 100% reimbursement of basic services (maintenance check-ups, fillings, X-rays, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, denture repairs), including current major restorative services (orthodontic services).
Paramedical: Reimbursement for services provided by registered paramedics including chiropractor, osteopath, naturopath, podiatrist, physiotherapist, massage therapist, speech therapist, psychologist, maximum of $250 per year per paramedic practitioner.
Sick leave: 12 days per year for full-time, 8 days per year for part-time employees. Unused time may be carried over to next year.
AD&D: Coverage of $30,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $30,000.
Pension: Employees may contribute 18% per year to employer-sponsored Manulife RRSP. Employer will match contributions, maximum 2%.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, same or opposite gender including common-law that has co-habitated with employee for at least 1 year, fiancé(e), child, parent, stepparent, siblings, stepbrother, stepsister, current in-law relationships, (including mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter), grandparents, grandchildren). Additional 2 days if travelling more than 250 kilometres away. 1 day for death of another relative, close friend.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Probationary period: 450 hours worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Severance: 1 week per year of service, maximum 8 weeks.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide aprons, ties for dietary aides, tunics and vests for HCAs and LPNs, tunics for housekeepers, jackets for cooks.

Registration fees: Licensed practical nurse who is 0.4 full-time equivalent position or greater as of Dec. 1 in each year and has active registration with College of Licensed Practical Nurse of Alberta (CLPNA) at beginning of next year will receive $100 reimbursement for CLPNA registration.
