Provincewide, Saskatchewan (3,400 health and social care professional employees) and the Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAA)

Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2013, to March 31, 2018.

Wage adjustments:

Signing bonus: 0.5% of earnings

Effective April 1, 2013: 1.5%

Effective April 1, 2014: 1.5%

Effective April 1, 2015: 1.5%

Effective April 1, 2016: 1.95%

Effective April 1, 2017: 1.95%

Shift premium: $2.75 per hour effective July 1,2015 for evening and night shift work. $2.25 per hour effective July 1, 2015 for work on Saturday and Sunday.

Paid holidays: 12 days. Time and one-half for employees required to work on a holiday. Double time for any overtime work performed on a holiday.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 4 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Double time for all hours worked if an employee is called back to work during a scheduled vacation.

Overtime: Time and one-half for first 3 hours of overtime worked beyond 8 hours in one day or 112 hours in a 3-week period, double time for all subsequent hours. Time off may be taken in lieu of pay.

Dental: 100% coverage for basic services, 75% coverage for major restorative services. Orthodontia plan made available for employee and dependants.

Sick leave: 1.5 days earned per month up to 190 days.

Pension: Saskatchewan Health Care Employees’ Pension Plan (SHEPP). Public Employees Pension Plan: Employee and employer contribute 7% each.

Bereavement leave: 4 days for the death of an employee’s spouse (including same sex and common-law), fiancé, mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, grandparent, grandchild, or someone with whom the employee has an equivalent relationship. 2 days for the death of an employee’s father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew or someone with whom they have an equivalent relationship. Up to 2 days granted for employees needing to travel beyond 500 km. Up to 4 hours to attend the funeral of a co-worker.

Seniority – recall rights: 3 years.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay at time and one-half. Double time for all hours worked beyond 3 in a call-back.

Probationary period: 1 year.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years. 3 years in instances of suspension.

Safety shoes: Employees reimbursed for purchase of footwear upon receipt.

Uniforms/clothing: $200 winter clothing allowance upon hire and per year thereafter. Employer to make available shirts, pants or coveralls, weather-appropriate outerwear, safety eyewear, gloves, rain jackets.

Mileage: 49¢ per km, minimum $4.50 per round trip when employee is required to use personal vehicle for business.

Exercise therapist: $30.68 rising in 5 steps to $37.52

Genetics counsellor: $35.78 rising in 5 steps to $43.77

Health educator (senior): $33.13 rising in 4 steps to $40.52

Infection control practitioner: $40.85 rising in 5 steps to $48.92

Mental health therapist: $30.68 rising in 5 steps to $37.52

Mental health therapist (senior): $33.13 rising in 5 steps to $40.52

Editor’s notes: Overnight accommodation: $25 per night for an employee required to stay away from home overnight. Employee will be reimbursed for meal and incidental expenses. Northern allowance: Paid bi-weekly in the following cities: $225 for La Loche, Ile a la Crosse, Pinehouse, Sandy Bay, Buffalo Narrows. $141 for Cumberland House, Beauval, Creighton, Green Lake. $94 for La Ronge. Relocation expenses: All part-time and full-time employees to receive relocation allowance up to $3,000 upon hire. Retention pay: $4,200 per year for La Loche. $4,000 for Ile a la Crosse, Pinehouse, Sandy Bay. $3,650 for Buffalo Narrows. $3,300 for Cumberland House. $2,500 for Beauval. $2,000 for Creighton, Green Lake. $1,900 for La Ronge.
