Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023. Signed on Feb. 13, 2020.
Shift premium: Double-time for first full shift worked on new schedule for employee whose scheduled hours of work are changed without 5 days of prior notice in advance of starting time of change. $1.75 per hour for all hours worked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. including overtime hours contiguous to scheduled shift. Effective July 1, 2021: $2 per hour. $1.50 per hour for all hours worked, including overtime hours, on Saturday, Sunday. Employee will be paid acting pay from date on which employee commenced when employee substantially performs duties of higher classification level in acting capacity for at least 2 consecutive days.
Paid holidays: 11 days plus employee may elect to observe either Family Day in February or Easter Monday as designated paid holiday provided that election is confirmed no later than Dec. 31 of previous year.
Vacations with pay: 9.375 hours per month or 3 weeks after 1 year, 12.5 hours per month or 4 weeks after 8 years, 15.625 hours per month or 5 weeks after 18 years, 18.75 hours per month or 6 weeks after 29 years for 37.5-hour average workweek. 10 hours per month or 3 weeks after 1 year, 13.333 hours per month or 4 weeks after 8 years, 16.666 hours per month or 5 weeks after 18 years, 20 hours per month or 6 weeks after 29 years for 40-hour average workweek.
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours worked after normal scheduled daily hours; double time thereafter. Time and one-half for work on first day of rest; double time for each hour worked in excess of employee’s normal daily hours worked on that day of rest. Double time for each hour worked on second or subsequent day of rest. Employer will pay overtime compensation within 4 weeks of submission of overtime claim unless employee has requested compensatory leave with pay. Time may be taken as compensatory time off, maximum 50 hours per year, but time off not used by Dec. 31 will be paid for in cash.
Meal allowance: $13 for employee who works 3 or more hour of overtime immediately before of after scheduled hours of work; 1 additional $13 for each 4-hour period of overtime worked thereafter (except where free meals are provided or when employee is being compensated on some other basis).
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 9.375 hours per month for employee who averages 37.5 hours per week; 10 hours per month for employee who averages 40 hours per week.
LTD: Employer pays 85% of premiums, employee pays 15% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Saskatoon Airport Authority Pension Plan for eligible employees prior to April 1, 2013; Saskatoon Airport Authority RBC Group Retirement Savings Plan for eligible employees hired after April 1, 2013.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, child, stepchild, ward, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, relative residing in employee’s household). 1 day for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law. 1 day to employee to attend funeral as pallbearer.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year when employer appoints employee to position outside bargaining unit on acting basis.
Call-in pay: Greater of 4 hours at applicable overtime rate of pay for each call in, maximum 8 hours of compensation per 8-hour period, or compensation at applicable overtime rate for actual time worked, provided that period worked by employee is not contiguous to employee’s normal hours of work. Compensation for time actually worked or minimum of 4 hours of pay at applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater, for employee who reports for work as directed on day of rest. Employee will be reimbursed for use of vehicle each time they are called in to work.
Probationary period: 6 months. For airfield maintenance specialists, probation period is not complete until employee has completed 1 full winter season’s operations or achieved 6 months of service, whichever is greater.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for any documents or written statements related to disciplinary action.
Severance: 4 months’ regular pay (exclusive of premiums), plus 1 month’s regular pay per year of service rounded up to next full year, total maximum of 2 year’s regular pay.
Safety shoes: $290 (CSA-approved only) per year (previously $135 per year).
Uniforms/clothing: Rain wear (hats, coats, pants and boots) will be provided as required. After 6 months of service, employees will receive: 2 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, 1 jacket, work gloves, winter gloves, 2 sweatshirts, 1 winter hat, 1 ball cap.
