Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2021. Ratified in March 2020. Signed on May 27, 2020.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 1%
Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 1%
Shift premium: $0.50 for each hour worked past 6 p.m. for employees required to work past 6 p.m. as part of regularly scheduled hours.
Paid holidays: 10 days plus 1 day off for each of employee’s birthday and Remembrance Day. When day before Christmas and day before New Year’s are regularly scheduled workdays, employer will cease normal activities at 1 p.m.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 22 years, 7 weeks after 25 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked outside of 37.5 hours per week. Time and one-half for all hours worked on paid holidays, minimum of 4 hours. Work not continuous with regular shift will receive greater of 2 hours’ straight pay or actual time worked at overtime rate.
Sick leave: 7 days to start, 10 days after 1 year, 12 days after 5 years, 14 days after 10 years.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for health insurance plan.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for equivalent to Blue Cross Plan No. 9. Orthodontic coverage to lifetime maximum of $2,000 per insured on 50% copayment basis.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Covers eye glasses or $150 for contact lenses.
Paramedical: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Maximum $400 per benefit year per insured for physiotherapy. Maximum $500 per year per insured for chiropractor, registered massage therapist, chiropodist. Coverage for services on 1, 2 or 3 of will not exceed combined $500 per year per insured.
STD: 120 days.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 60% of earnings, maximum $3,000 per month.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 4 consecutive paid days for death of parent, sibling, spouse, child, stepchild, parent-in-law, sibling-in-law, guardian, grandparent, stepparent, grandchild, stepgrandchild. 1 day can be banked if funeral or memorial falls outside 4-day limit.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year for layoffs; 3 years due to illness.
Probationary period: 900 hours worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for any letter of reprimand, suspension, any other expression of dissatisfaction.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer supplies uniforms where required. If employee is required to supply uniform, employer will reimburse maximum $100.
Mileage: $0.50 per kilometre for employee who uses own vehicle in course of employment.

Special paid leave: Employee with at least 6 years of service who has, on Jan. 1, positive frozen sick bank amount may elect to take 1 special paid leave in that calendar year up to 37.5 hours or number in frozen sick bank. Standby pay: $2 per hour to remain available on standby until called into work. Medical notes: After 3 consecutive days of absence, employee will be required to verify that absence was due to illness by submitting doctor’s certificate or other suitable verification, if requested by employer. Employer will cover cost of documentation, maximum $40 per slip or report. Orthotic coverage: Maximum $250 per year per insured.
