Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 15, 2020 to Nov. 14, 2023. Signed on Nov. 15, 2020.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Nov. 15, 2020: 1.1%
Effective Nov. 15, 2021: 2%
Effective Nov. 15, 2022: 2%
Shift premium: $0.75 per hour for afternoon shift. $1.50 per hour for night shift. $1 per hour for lead hands. $2 per hour (above highest applicable labour classification rate) for working foreman.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 5 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 10 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 hours per day; double time for all hours worked after 12 hours per day. Time and one-half for all hours worked after 40 hours per week, exclusive of daily overtime; double time for all hours worked after 48 hours per week. Double time for employee who works 7 consecutive days for hours worked on seventh day of normal workweek.
Medical benefits: Employer will pay $1.99 (previously $1.95) for all hours worked, maximum 2,000 hours per year, by all employees to union’s health and welfare plan, administered by CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund.
AD&D: Coverage of $100,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000.
Pension: Employer will contribute 3% (4% in sixth-year of service) of prevailing hourly rate and match employee’s self-contributions, maximum 2%, for each hour worked in group RSP administered by CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund.
Bereavement leave: Employer will provide 3 paid days plus unpaid leave of absence for death in immediate family (parent, legal guardian, grandparent, grandparent of spouse, spouse, common-law spouse, child, legal dependant, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchild).
Probationary period: 90 calendar days.
Safety shoes: Employer will provide $100 per year for all employees, who will wear safety footwear where required.
Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear safety hats made available by employer.
Mileage: $0.35 per kilometre for total kilometres traveled daily for daily travel on projects outside Metro Vancouver free zone.

Editor’s notes: Living-out allowance: $90 per day worked when employees are away from normal place of residence overnight. If employer provides accommodations for employees, lodgings will be based on 2 employees per room and each employee will be paid $45 per day for food. Union-management meetings: If meetings are held outside of regular working hours, employer will pay $10 flat fee to each committee member for each meeting attended. Education and training: Employer will contribute 0.5% of prevailing hourly rate for all hours worked by each employee to union’s education and training fund.
