Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2018 to Jan. 31, 2021. Signed on Feb. 13, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Feb. 1, 2018: 1.5%

Effective Feb. 1, 2019: 3%

Effective Feb. 1, 2020: 4%

Paid holidays: 11 days. Employees eligible for Good Friday holiday may opt to forgo that time off to recognize ethno-cultural day of their ethnic or cultural background.

Vacations with pay: Employees will receive percentages of gross wages earned in lieu of vacations: 4% to start, 5% after 2 years, 6% after 4 years, 8% after 6 years, 10% after 8 years, 12% after 10 years, 14% after 15 years, 16% after 20 years.

Overtime: Paid at time and one-half for first 2 hours of overtime (after 8 hours per day) on regularly scheduled workday; double time thereafter. Time and one-half for all hours worked after 40 hours per week between Sunday at 12:01 a.m. and following Saturday at midnight; double time after 8 hours of overtime. Double time for employee who does not have 32 consecutive hours free from work per week.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 85% of premiums, employee pays 15% of premiums. Employees who work 750 hours or more per 6-month period, will be eligible for coverage in following 6-month period.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, same or opposite sex common-law spouse, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchild). 2 additional days for travel outside B.C.

Seniority – recall rights: 4 months for temporary assignments with employer outside bargaining unit; 6 month when employee does not work (providing it isn’t for authorized leave).

Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours of pay at overtime rates.

Probationary period: 3 calendar months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months; 24 months where finding of harassment has been made.

Safety shoes: $150 every 2 years to 10 stock workers (previously 6 stock workers) who worked most hours in previous calendar year.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide protective clothing, safety equipment for employees. Employer will provide coveralls and uniform appropriate to summer season for all stock employees. Employer will provide CSA-approved work gloves to all stock employees.

Concession bartender: $17.77 rising 3 steps to $19.04

Stand leader/commissary leader: $17.76 rising 3 steps to $19.03

Barista stand leader: $17.76 rising 3 steps to $19.03

Cashier/stand cashier: $16.76 rising 3 steps to $17.95

Concession worker: $15.17 rising 3 steps to $16.25

Concession steward: $15.17 rising 3 steps to $16.25

Concession vendor (non-alcohol): $15.17 rising 3 steps to $16.25

Concession vendor (alcohol): $17.77 rising 3 steps to $19.04

Catering department

Banquet captain: $16.64 rising 3 steps to $17.82

Catering bartender: $18.42 rising 3 steps to $19.73

Catering worker: $14.50 rising 3 steps to $15.54

Stock department

Stock worker: $16.76 rising 3 steps to $17.95

Stock beer worker: $18.88 rising 3 steps to $20.22

Kitchen department

Sous chef: $24.82 rising 3 steps to $26.58

Editor’s notes: Training: Minimum hours of pay when employee attends compulsory training course on non-event days. Serving It Right training: For employees hired after July 1, 1999, cost of training will be paid by employer. Probationary employees must acquire certification by end of probationary program. Time off: Employees may elect to take 3 major events off each season at discretion of employer but will not be unreasonably upheld. Food provided: Employer will provide wholesome meal on event days. During trade shows, employer will provide wholesome meal at designated location. Medical notes: When employer requires note from doctor specifying employee illness or injury, employer will reimburse 50% of cost to employee for providing note. Damage to personal possessions: When employee’s personal possessions are damaged by patron while performing duties, employer will pay current value, maximum $75 ($125 for prescription glasses). Does not apply to clothing. Canada Savings Bonds: Employee will be entitled to have deductions from salaries to purchase Canada Savings Bonds.
