Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2023. Ratified on March 7, 2019. Signed on April 1, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 2.5%

Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2.75%

Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 3%

Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 3.5%

Shift premium: Shift differential: $4.08 per hour (previously $3.98 per hour). Effective Jan 1, 2020: $4.19 per hour. Effective Jan 1, 2021: $4.32 per hour. Effective Jan 1, 2022: $4.47 per hour. $1,000 per month for first-class steam-ticket certification. $800 per month for second-class steam-ticket certification. $450 per month for third-class steam-ticket certification. No premium for fourth-class steam-ticket certification. 1-time lump-sum payment of $3,000 for plant employee who successfully completes and achieves first class steam ticket certification. 10% of lead operator no. 1 rate when employee is functioning as acting coordinator and supervising other workers. $200 per month to plant-maintenance employees who hold 2 Alberta journeyman tickets. 10% (with minimum second-class steam ticket) when acting shift team lead is performing duties of shift engineer. Shift differential: $186.23 per pay (previously $181.69 per pay). Effective Jan. 1, 2020: $191.35 per pay. Effective Jan. 1, 2021: $197.09 per pay. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $203.99 per pay. Night shift differential (for all overtime hours worked between 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.): $4.08 per hour (previously $3.98 per hour). Effective Jan. 1, 2020: $4.19 per hour. Effective Jan. 1, 2021: $4.32 per hour. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $4.47 per hour. $1,500 shift-handover recognition premium for quality shift handovers. Paid as lump sum semi-monthly to employees who are assigned formal shift-handover expectations, including face-to-face handover to relay critical information with incoming shift operator and who perform duties beyond normally scheduled hours. 5% above craftsman 1 rate for maintenance-lead position.

Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floater day.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 18 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Under special circumstances, employee may have 1 week of vacation deferred to next year.

Overtime: Double time for all work after 9 or 12 hours per day or 40 hours per week or 160 hours per 4-week period. Double time for all work on days off. May be banked, maximum 48 hours.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 calendar months from date of layoff.

Call-in pay: Greater of 4 hours’ pay at straight-time rate or pay for actual hours worked at worksite at 2-times straight-time rate plus portal to portal (1 way: 0.75 hours; return trip: 1.5 hours).

Probationary period: 9 calendar months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months (performance improvement program).

Safety shoes: Employer will reimburse employees for full cost of approved safety footwear as required to satisfy requirements of role.
