Wage adjustments:
Effective Aug. 16, 2020: 1.5%
Shift premium: $35 per day for employees temporarily relieving location manager in store for all days worked in that capacity. $2 per hour shift for each full hour worked between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. $1 per hour to lead-hand for all full hours appointed. $1 per hour to employee designated as clerk-in-charge who (in absence of store manager, store supervisor, assistant store manager) assumes responsibility for operation of store and acts in capacity for 2 consecutive hours or more during all hours store is open to public. $1.75 per hour for employees assigned to relieve variety operator when assigned to do so for 1 week or more. $1.50 per hour for employees assigned to relieve floral operator when assigned to do so for 1 week or longer. $1.50 per hour for employees assigned to relieve coffee bar operator when assigned to do so for 1 week or longer. $1 per hour for each hour worked on Sunday. $2 per hour for all hours worked by bakery production employee between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 week or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 8 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 13 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 18 years, 7 weeks or 14% after 23 years.
Overtime: Time and one half for all time worked in excess of basic workweek. Compensating time-off will not be given in lieu of overtime pay. Double time for work after 10 hours per day (11 hours per day for 9-hour basic workday). Time and one-half for any time worked by part-time employee after 5 days per week for southern Alberta part-time employees. Double time for work on day off for southern Alberta employees
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer will contribute $0.43 per hour to United Food and Commercial Workers’ Dental Care Plan.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of $200 per person every 24 months for purchase, repair of prescription lens, frames. Reimbursement for eye exam (maximum $60) and for corrective lenses will be combined maximum of $200 (with no deductible) in 24-month period.
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of 70% of straight-time weekly wages.
Sick leave: 4 hours for each month of employment, maximum 208 hours.
LTD: Coverage of 50% of base weekly earnings at date of disability, maximum $2,000 per month (previously $1,800 per month).
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employee will contribute $0.22 per hour after 2 years; $0.40 per hour after 8 years of service, employer will contribute $1.45 per hour to Canadian Commercial Workers’ Industry Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: Leave of absence with pay, with consideration given to travel time to attend funeral, for death in immediate family (spouse, parent, stepparent, child, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandmother, grandmother-in-law, grandfather, grandfather-in-law, grandchildren, any relative living in household of employee). 1 day for death of aunt, uncle.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay at regular hourly rate.
Probationary period: First 200 hours worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for discipline notices.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will furnish smock or apron and employer will pay for repair and laundering of same for employees in bakery production and meat cutters in Lloydminster. In other departments where employer requires employee to wear smocks or aprons, employer will provide and repair smocks and aprons free of cost. Special clothing — such as rain capes and parkas — will be supplied by employer. Gloves will be made available for use in cold weather. Employer will supply rubber boots to employees in produce and meats (Lloydminster). Employer will supply 2 uniform shirts to each employee at time of hire.
Mileage: $0.45 per kilometre (or employee will be paid bus fare) when employee is transferred to another store during work shift.
