Shift premium: $0.30 per hour (previously $0.25 per hour) for all hours worked where majority of hours fall between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Effective April 1, 2020: $0.35 per hour. Effective April 1, 2021: $0.40 per hour. Effective April 1, 2022: $0.45 per hour. $1 per hour for each hour during temporary assignment when employer temporarily assigns employee to carry out assigned responsibilities of higher paying classification inside or outside bargaining unit for 1 shift or more.
Paid holidays: 10 days, plus 2 float holidays.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 5 years, 6 weeks after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and onehalf for all work after 7.5 or 8 hours per day or 75 or 80 hours biweekly.
Medical benefits: Employer contributes 75% of premiums, employee contributes 25% of premiums.
Dental: Employer contributes 75% of premiums, employee contributes 25% of premiums.
Vision: Coverage of $300 every 24 months.
Sick leave: 1 day per month. Employees can carry over sick time from year to year, maximum 120 days (first 32 days of illness will be at 100% of salary; remaining days will be at 75% of salary).
Life insurance: Employer contributes 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer will contribute 2% to group RRSP. Effective April 1, 2020: 3%. Effective April 1, 2021: 4%.
Bereavement leave: 3 days (within 7-day period following death) for death of sister, brother, mother-in-law, fatherin-law, son-in-law, daughter-inlaw, grandparent, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent of spouse. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, to attend funeral.
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months for temporary assignments outside bargaining unit; 24 months for positions outside bargaining unit, layoffs.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half straight-time hourly rate for work performed on each callin. If 4-hour period overlaps and extends into regular shift, employee will receive 4-hour guarantee payment at time and one half and his regular hourly rate for remaining hours of regular shift.
Probationary period: 450 hours of work.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for letter of reprimand or suspension (any leave of absence more than 30 continuous calendar days will not count).
Severance: 2 weeks’ salary for each year of service, maximum 12 weeks’ pay when employee resigns within 30 days after receiving notice of layoff; 4 weeks’ salary when employee resigns later than 30 days after receiving notice.

Editor’s notes: Retirement allowance: Employee who elects early retirement option will receive 2 weeks’ salary for each year of service, plus prorated amount for additional partial year of service, maximum 52 weeks’ salary. Personal emergency leave: Employees will be entitled to 2 paid, 8 unpaid days per year. Medical certificates: When employee is required to have physician complete employer’s form, employees will be reimbursed for medical certificates, maximum $50 per certificate.
