Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2022 to Dec. 31, 2024. Signed on July 5, 2022.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2023: $1 per hour
Effective Jan. 1, 2024: $1 per hour
Shift premium: $0.50 per hour worked for all shifts where majority of hours worked are after 3 p.m. and before 11:30 p.m. $1 per hour worked for all shifts where majority of hours worked are after 11 pm and before 7:30 a.m. on any shift. $2.75 per hour for lead-hands.
Paid holidays: 12 days, including National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days, to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 4 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 12 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 40 hours per week for plant, incinerator, warehouse employees; 44 hours per week for transportation employees. Time and one-half for all work on Saturday, Sunday.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: Coverage of $200 every 24 months (12 months for insured persons younger than 18).
Paramedical: Maximum $350 per year.
Sick leave: 10 days per year (no carry-over of days to next year, if not used).
LTD: Coverage of 60% of gross monthly earnings, maximum $3,000 per month.
Life insurance: Coverage of 100% of basic annual earnings, maximum $100,000.
Pension: Employer will contribute 5% pensionable earnings per month to Teamsters, Local 847 DC pension plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, child, father, mother, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandfather, grandmother.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoff; 3 months when member of bargaining unit accepts position with employer that is outside scope of agreement.
Probationary period: First 90 calendar days of employment.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for any action or decision in respect of any employee.
Severance: 2 weeks’ notice or pay in lieu or notice under Ontario Labour Relations Act (OLRA), whichever is greater, and 2 weeks’ pay at straight-time hourly rate per year of service, maximum 52 weeks.
Safety shoes: $275 per year for safety shoes (shoes must be CSA-approved).
Uniforms/clothing: Employees will be supplied with winter workwear, consisting of winter work jacket and toque when required. Short-sleeve shirts and baseball caps will be provided for drivers in warm weather. Employer will provide short-sleeved shirts and cargo pants in summer; long-sleeved shirts and cargo pants in winter. Employees in plant will be limited to either long-sleeved shirts and cargo pants or coveralls. Employer will provide 2 pairs of gloves each Monday to Sunday period to each employee.

Maintenance millwright: $39 rising 1 step to $40
Maintenance: $30.70 rising 1 step to $31.70
AZ-class driver/shunter: $30.65 rising 1 step to $31.65
DZ-class driver: $28.05 rising 1 step to $29.05
Incinerator operator: $26.75 rising 1 step to $27.75
G-class driver: $25.10 rising 1 step to $26.10
Plant personnel: $24.25 rising 1 step to $25.25
Shipper/receiver: $23.15 rising 1 step to $24.15
Sorter: $21.70 rising 1 step to $22.70
Editor’s notes: Living allowance: $110 per day (previously $90 per day) for drivers who stay overnight during course of completing assigned route or other assignments. Hearing aids: $500 per 60 consecutive months.
