Renewal agreement: Effective June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024. Signed on May 15, 2023.

Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for steward w/ tool box 1. $0.75 per hour for steward w/ tool box 2. $1 per hour for steward w/ tool box 3. $2 per hour for lead-hand. $2 per hour for foreperson. $2 per hour for shifts scheduled between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Paid holidays: Employees will be entitled to receive 4% of regular earnings in lieu of following general holidays: New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Heritage (Civic) Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day.

Vacations with pay: 6% to start, 7% after 5 years, 8% after 10 years. Vacation pay will be paid to employees on each pay cheque and on termination. Employer will consider vacations at requested times considering business requirements.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 44 hours per week.

Meal allowance: If employer does not notify employees day before that they will be working beyond 11 hours in 1 day, employer will provide employees with 1 hot meal.

Medical benefits: CLAC health and welfare trust fund.

Pension: CLAC group RSP. Employer will contribute additional $1 for each hour worked toward union-sponsored group RSP for journeymen tradesmen who have worked with employer for more than 1 year (as apprentice, journeyman or combination of both)

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of employee’s spouse, common-law spouse, child, siblings, parents; employee’s spouse’s child, siblings, parents.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days.

Safety shoes: All employees will wear CSA-approved safety boots furnished by employee.

Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear safety hats to be made available by employer. All employees will wear long-sleeved shirts (on jobs and tasks that require it). Employer will furnish employees with safety equipment (depending on specific site requirements); raingear when required.

Commercial/institutional construction

Plumber: $40.50

Steam/gas fitter: $40.50

Labourer: $20.25

Welder (B pressure): $40.50

Plumber apprentice

Fourth-year: $32.40

Third-year: $28.35

Second-year: $24.30

First-year: $20.25

Residential construction

Plumber: $38.75

Steam/gas fitter: $38.750

Labourer: $19.37

Welder (B pressure): $38.75

Plumber apprentice

Fourth-year: $31

Third-year: $27.12

Second-year: $23.25

First-year: $19.37

Editor’s notes: Union-management meetings: $25 flat fee to committee member for each meeting attended when meetings are held outside of regular working hours. Education fund: Employer agrees to contribute $0.02 per hour to union education fund for each hour worked by each employee. Apprenticeship training fund: Employer agrees to contribute $0.06 per hour to union education fund for each hour worked by each employee.
