Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2022 to April 30, 2025. Ratified on May 11 , 2022. Signed on May 11, 2022.
Wage adjustments:
Effective May 1, 2022: 4%
Effective May 1, 2023: 3%
Effective May 1, 2024: 2%
Shift premium: $1,100 per month as living assistance premium. $850 per month for Wood Buffalo region resident field techs. $1 per working hour for all employees who work afternoon shift. $10 per hour for journeyman crane operators to operate crane more than 15 tons for loading or unloading.
Paid holidays: 11 days plus employees will receive last 4 hours of work off, with pay, on Christmas Eve Day and New Year’s Eve Day.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 20 years; additional extra days will be provide after 26 to 30 years. Employee will be allowed to carry over maximum 2 weeks’ vacation from 1 year into following year (carryover cannot be further carried over into next year).
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours worked after regular work day; double time thereafter. Time and one-half for duration of employee’s regular scheduled hours for work on first day after employee’s regular shift; double time thereafter. All travel time and waiting time beyond employee’s regular shift will be paid at time and one-half, maximum 4 hours; double time for all hours after in any 24-hour period. Double time for all hours worked on second and third day of rest. Double time for all hours worked on holidays (will be in addition to general holiday pay). Maximum 130 hours may be banked; maximum 80 hours may be used per year. Additional 50 hours may be used for employer-instigated layoff.
Meal allowance: Employer will reimburse meal receipt, maximum $20, for any employee who works more than 10 hours on regular scheduled workday or for more than 4 hours on non-scheduled work day (to be consumed by employee only). Unpaid 30-minute period to consume said meal will be given as well.
Paramedical: $500 per year per person for physiotherapy, chiropractic therapy, massage. $300 per year per person for all other services.
Sick leave: 6 days per year at full pay. Unused leave will be paid out at 100% at end of year.
STD: Coverage of 66 2/3% regular weekly earnings, maximum $1,300 ($1,650 for Wood Buffalo).
LTD: Coverage of 70% of regular monthly earnings to non-evident maximum of $3,000.
AD&D: Coverage of 2 times annual earnings, maximum $225,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of 2 times annual earnings, maximum $225,000.
Bereavement leave: 3 days, after 6 months of service, for death of near-relative of employee or spouse, including common-law (spouse, children, mother, father, brother, sister, grandparents). Extra days may be given (maximum 3 days).
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months after layoffs; 12 months for employee on approved leave of absence.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay at appropriate overtime rate; Minimum 3 hours of pay at appropriate overtime rate for parts persons.
Probationary period: 4 months of employment and having worked 80 days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for all disciplinary documents.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply and launder coveralls, parts department smocks, safety equipment as required, including proper and adequate respirators, molded earplugs, non-prescription safety glasses, goggles and shields, welding gloves and maintain adequate supply of gloves, rain suit and parkas for special requirements. Employer will reimburse shop technicians for winter coveralls, maximum $400 every 4 years.

Editor’s notes: On-call: $350 per period for mechanics, parts persons, regardless of number of calls, for 7 continuous days (Monday through Sunday). Field work: Employees who stay away from home for work purposes will be given $70 per diem (non-taxable). Hotel room costs will be reimbursed. If meals are provided, they will be deducted: $15 for breakfast; $20 for lunch; $30 for dinner.
