Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 1, 2021 to Oct. 31, 2024. Signed on July 18, 2022.

Shift premium: $0.85 per hour (previously $0.70 per hour) for shifts beginning at 4 p.m. or later. $1.75 per hour  (previously $1.50 per hour) for shifts beginning at 10 p.m. and including 4 a.m. $3 per hour for lead-hands. $3 per hour for training.

Paid holidays: 11 days, including National Truth and Reconciliation Day.

Vacations with pay: 1 days per month, maximum 10 days, to start, 10 days after 1 year, 15 days after 5 years, 20 days after 10 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for worked after 8 hours per day or after 40 hours per week (does not apply to shift rotations scheduled greater than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week). Time may be saved into bank, maximum 80 hours. Maximum 40 hours of time banked credits may be carried over to next fiscal year and must be used by March 30 of each year.

Sick leave: 7 days per year. All unused sick days will be paid out at 100%, maximum 56 hours, on first pay period of following year.

Pension: Employer will contribute $0.35 per hour (previously $0.30 per hour) to employee RSP. Effective Nov. 1, 2023: $0.40 per hour.

Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, father or mother of legal spouse, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren of employees and spouse, any relative who resides with employee). Additional 6 days leave, without pay, to attend funeral for death in immediate family outside Canada.

Seniority – recall rights: 18 months after layoff.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours paid at time and one-half.

Probationary period: First 90 calendar days of employment.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for document or written statement related to disciplinary action.

Safety shoes: $160 per year, by April 1, for CSA-approved boots.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide employees with: 4 shirts and 4 pants per year; 1 hoodie per year; 3 sets of coveralls for fuelers and utility employees plus replacement if work wear-and-tear warrants it; 7 sets of coveralls for mechanics plus replacement if work wear-and-tear warrants it; 1 3-in-1 jacket every 2 years; 1 rainsuit per 2 years; 1 set of regular ear protectors as needed, if turned in; summer gloves as required; winter gloves as required.

Tool allowance: $600 per year for mechanics.

Editor’s notes: Personal day: 1 personal day, with pay, will be given to employees who have completed 60 days of service. Social justice fund: Employer will contribute $0.01 per hour worked to PSAC Social Justice Fund for all hours worked by each employee in bargaining unit.
