Renewal agreement: Effective June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2023. Ratified on Dec. 3, 2019. Signed on March 3, 2020.
Wage adjustments:
Effective June 1, 2019: 2%
Effective June 1, 2020: 2%
Effective June 1, 2021: 2%
Effective June 1, 2022: 2.5%
Shift premium: $1.25 per hour for employee who assumes additional responsibilities, such as supervisory duties. $2.45 per hour (previously $2.10 per hour) for all hours worked when majority of the hours are between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. $2.10 per hour (previously $1.85 per hour) will be paid for all hours worked when major portion of shift is worked between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday; between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Sunday.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 4 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, averaged over 14-day period, whichever is greater. May be taken as time off in lieu but no employee will be forced to take time off in lieu of overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for AUMA (Alberta Urban Municipalities Association) coverage, Alberta Health Care.
Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Vision: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Coverage of $450 every 2 years.
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month, maximum credit of 100 days for full-time employees; 8 hours for each period of 168 hours worked, maximum credit of 720 hours for part-time employees.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Pension: Employer, employee equally contribute to voluntary RRSP: 2% after first year of employment; 3% after 3 years of employment; 4% after 5 years of employment. Employee is at liberty to contribute more if they choose to do so.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse, fiancée, children, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents (both sides), grandchildren, great-grandparents, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepchildren, stepparents, stepgrandparents, stepgrandchildren). 2 additional days for travel in excess of 600 kilometres from employee’s residence. 1 day for death in extended family (aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins (once and twice removed).
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs.
Call-in pay: Employee will be paid at basic rate for all hours worked or 2 hours at time and one-half times, whichever is greater. Employees will be paid at overtime rate for each hour worked during call-in period when total hours worked in day exceeds 8 hours.
Probationary period: New employees will serve 1 probation period of 520 hours worked (equivalent to 3 months for full-time employees). No employee will be required to serve probationary period greater than 6 months in duration.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for warnings.
Uniforms/clothing: $150 per year for any employee required to wear uniform or specific type of shoes.
Mileage: $0.30 per kilometre for employee who uses own vehicle for work purposes (employee will also be reimbursed for reasonable, necessary, substantiated transportation expenses).

Editor’s notes: Advances: Employees will have option of being paid, as long as they have worked hours equivalent for such payment, advance on 16th of each month (or next business day), $500 for permanent full-time; $300 for permanent part-time employees. Personal days: Employees may be granted maximum 2 personal days per year with pay (maximum 1 personal day to full-time hour equivalency for part-time employees). Days may not be carried over from year-to-year. Training allowance: Employees — when required by employer to attend any training course, seminar, staff meeting (except in relation to obtaining HCA certification) — will be paid at overtime rates when applicable for all hours attended in training course, seminar, staff meeting.
