Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2020 to April 30, 2022. Ratified in June 2020. Signed on April 7, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective June 2020 (ratification): 3.5%

Effective May 1, 2021: 1.75%

Shift premium: $0.75 per hour for 4 p.m. to midnight shift. $1 per hour for midnight to 8 a.m. shift. $2 per hour for working at heights of 50 feet and higher. 10% above journeyperson rate for foreman.

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Overtime: Time and one-half during first 3 hours in excess of regular hours of work Monday to Friday. Double time minimum wage for work in excess of first 2 hours and all work performed on Saturdays, Sunday, statutory holidays. Time and one-half for maintenance work that must be performed on weekends.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for local union benefit plans.

Pension: Employer makes contributions to Canadian Bricklayer and Allied Craft Unions Members Pension Trust/Local 6 Pension Trust Fund.

Safety shoes: $100 boot allowance every 6 months for work done with epoxy chemicals.

Tool allowance: Employer will supply cutting wheels for tile setters cutting machine. Employer will supply mortar boxes, mortar boards, straight edges, tubs, hoes, buckets, polishing rags, steel wool, power tools (power mixing drill must be on every job where bonding materials are mixed); bits, plaster bowls and sponges, any tile cutter longer that 16 inches. Employer will provide lock-up box or security area when required.

Mileage: Return public transportation costs paid for projects at least 322 kilometres outside boundary of free travel zone.

For apprentices who commence training and are members of union on or after may 1, 2010 and are members of locals 1, 6, 7, 12, 25, 28

First-term (1800 hours): 50% of journeyperson rate

Second-term (1800 hours): 65% of journeyperson rate

Third-term (1800 hours): 80% of journeyperson rate

Fourth-term (1800 hours): 90% of journeyperson rate

Editor’s notes: Trade school: $30 per week as employer’s participation in wages while apprentice is attending trade school. Travel costs: For apprentices travelling more than 75 kilometres from trade school, employer will compensate apprentice: $100 per week for those living between 75 to 150 kilometres away; $200 per week for those living between 150 to 250 kilometres away; $300 per week for those living between 250 to 400 kilometres away; $400 per week for those living more than 400 kilometres away. Parking: $18 per day (previously $17 per day). Effective May 1, 2021: Maximum $19 per day for Toronto; $14 per day for all other locations. Board allowance: $115 per day. Contributions: Each employer will contribute $0.80 per hour ($0.64 per hour will be allocated to Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Guild of Ontario; $0.15 per hour to Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Trade School; $0.01 per hour to Ontario Construction Secretariat).
