Wage adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2019: 2%
Effective July 1, 2020: 2%
Effective July 1, 2021: 2%
Shift premium: Overtime wages for hours of work included in notice period in altered shift for employee who doesn’t receiver 48 hours of notice for shift change.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month of service to start, 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 7 years, 5 weeks after 14 years, 6 weeks after 22 years for regular 12-month employees. 6% to start, 6% after 1 year, 8% after 7 years, 10% after 14 years, 12% after 22 years for regular 10-month employees.
Overtime: Paid after work beyond 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week. Time and one-half for first 2 hours per day; double time thereafter. Time may be taken as time off in lieu. Maximum 5 days for regular 10-month employees; 10 days for regular 12-month employees. Grandparented board office employees will not be eligible for overtime until they have worked 7.5 hours in 1 day or 37.5 hours in 1 week.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute 75% of premiums for provincial Medical Services Plan (MSP), employee will contribute 25% of premiums.
Dental: Employer will contribute 100% of premiums.
Vision: $200 every 24 months, with $25 deductible.
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month, maximum accrual 117 days.
Life insurance: Employer will contribute 100% of premiums for coverage of 3 times annual salary.
Pension: All eligible employees and employer will contribute to Municipal Pension Plan in accordance with plan rules.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse or equivalent, child, parent, legal guardian, spouse’s parents or legal guardians, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchild, grandparent) if funeral is to be held in B.C.; 5 if funeral is held outside of B.C.
Seniority – recall rights: 2 years after layoffs; 12 months for employee is transferred to position outside bargaining unit.
Probationary period: 4 months during initial appointment to regular or temporary position (after successfully completing probationary period, regular employees will serve trial period of 3 months in all subsequent appointments).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for any adverse letter.
Severance: 1 week’s pay for each year of service, maximum 8 weeks’ pay.

Editor’s notes: Personal losses: Employer will reimburse employees for personal property losses sustained due to theft or vandalism while on assignment for employer, maximum $150, provided that loss was greater than $25; employee filed police report. EFAP: Employer will provide employee and family assistance program that provides maximum 8 counseling sessions per employee per year.
