Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2022. Ratified on June 17, 2019. Signed on Sept. 9, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2019: 2%

Effective April 1, 2020: 1.5%

Effective April 1, 2021: 1%

Shift premium: $1.85 per hour to employee for each hour worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $0.50 per hour for each hour worked between 5 p.m. on Friday and 7 a.m. on Monday (for employees who work shift that ends between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, no weekend premium will be paid for hours worked on Friday).

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 6% after 2 years, 8% after 10 years, 12% after 26 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of weekly or daily regularly scheduled hours.

Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $250 per year for health spending/health wellness account.

Sick leave: 8 hours for every 160 hours paid (exclusive of overtime), maximum 680 hours. For each 6-month period that employee is not absent on account of sickness, disability, non-occupational accident, leave of absence without pay, employee will be entitled to 1 bonus day off with pay. 6-month periods will run from January to June and from July to December.

Pension: The Salvation Army Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan. Employee will contribute 4% to start; 5% after 5 years of service; 6% after 10 years of service. Employer will match contributions, maximum 2% to start; 3% after 10 years of service.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse (including common-law spouse, same-sex relationship), son-in-law, child, daughter-in-law, parent, mother-in-law, brother, father-in-law, sister, grandchild, guardian, grandparent, fiancé, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, sister-in-law.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at basic rate.

Probationary period: 3 months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.

Uniforms/clothing: $75 per year for uniforms for LPNs, health-care aides; footwear for maintenance staff.

Editor’s notes: Staff meetings: Employees required to attend staff meetings during regularly scheduled hours of work will do so without loss of pay. Employees who attend staff meetings on days off will be paid at basic hourly rate of pay for time in attendance or 3 hours’ at minimum wage, whichever is greater. Training: Employer will provide medication distribution, CPR, universal precautions, basic first-aid training and basic mental-health first-aid training without loss of wages or cost to employee. Professional fees: $300 for full-time ($150 for part-time employees) for dues paid to professional college for licensed practical nurses.
