Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2024 to Dec. 31, 2026. Signed on Dec. 21, 2023.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2024: 1.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2025: 2.75%
Effective Jan. 1, 2026: 2.75%
Shift premium: $2 per hour when shift extends beyond midnight for those classified as maintenance and facility operators. $2 per hour to employees who instruct certification courses when scheduled.
Paid holidays: 14 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Christmas floater day (permanent full-time employees only).
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 5 years, 5 weeks after 10 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 or 10 hours per shift or 40 or 44 hours per week. Time may be banked, maximum 40 hours, to be taken within 6 months or paid out after 6 months has lapsed.
Sick leave: 5.54 straight-time hours for each full pay period worked, maximum accumulation of 960 straight-time hours.
Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of employee’s family member. Additional 2 days may be given as necessitated by travel.
Seniority – recall rights: 3 months after layoffs.
Probationary period: 90 days worked, maximum 6 months, whichever comes first. Employer may extend period further 3 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for disciplinary reports.
Safety shoes: $200 every 2 years all employees who are required to wear CSA-approved safety footwear
Uniforms/clothing: $100 per year for pool deck footwear, swimwear, black shorts for all aquatics employees required to wear employer-approved footwear. Employees who work at more than 1 site will receive additional $50 per year.

Customer experience representative: $19.47 rising 2 steps to $20.46
Customer experience shift leader/ CYS team lead: $21.78 rising 2 steps to $22.88
Slide attendant: $16.35 rising 2 steps to $17.18
Child-minding attendant/CVS facilitator/facility support: $16.35 rising 2 steps to $17.18
Aquatics instructor/lifeguard/preschool instructor: $20.89 rising 2 steps to $21.94
Editor’s notes: On-call pay: $0.75 per hour (previously $0.30 per hour). Effective 2025: $1.15 per hour. Effective 2026: $1.50 per hour. Training: Employer will pay $0.05 for each hour worked into IUOE Local 955 training trust fund.
