Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2023, to Dec. 31, 2025.
Wage adjustments:
Effective May 1, 2023: 3.2%
Effective Jan. 1, 2024: 3%
Effective Jan. 1, 2025: 2.75%
Paid holidays: 10 days, plus designated University holidays that fall between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Vacations with pay: Employees shall earn paid vacation at a rate of 1.25 working days for each of the first 24 complete calendar months of continuous employment (up to 15 working days per year); Upon completion of 2 years of continuous employment, at the rate of 1.67 working days per month (up to 20 working days per year).
Overtime: 1.5 times regular rate of pay for hours worked in excess of 173 hours in a pay period.
Medical benefits: Extended Health and Dental Benefit Plan.
Dental: Extended Health and Dental Benefit Plan. Employees who want access to the Extended Health and Dental Benefit Plan for Family must pay 100% of the difference between family and single coverage premiums.
Vision: 100% reimbursement – with a maximum of $150/12 months.
Paramedical: 80% coinsurance - Massage Therapist, Chiropractor, Physiotherapy, Psychologist, (includes Psychotherapist, MSW/Clinical Counsellor/Family Counsellor), Naturopath - combined annual maximum of $500 per covered person.
Sick leave: 9 days of paid sick leave annually.
AD&D: Voluntary Accident Insurance may be purchased at 100% cost to the Employee. The Voluntary Accident Insurance provides for a benefit up to $250,000.
Life insurance: Optional Life Insurance may be purchased at 100% cost to the employee. Employees may elect insurance benefits on their life in increments of $50,000 to a maximum of $500,000.
Bereavement leave: 5 days.
Probationary period: 4 months.
Uniforms/clothing: Employees shall be reimbursed for personal protective equipment and/or specialized clothing that is required by the Faculty Supervisor when working in a particular laboratory or research environment.
Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):
Minimum floor: $38,500, up two steps to $40,845.
Editor’s notes: All active eligible employees as of the date of ratification of the Collective Agreement, excluding those on unpaid leave of absences and those in receipt of benefits from Workplace Safety Insurance Board, shall receive a one-time lump sum payment $600 payable within 60 days of ratification. Employees will be provided with a Professional Allowance of $70 per month for the number of appointment months in the calendar year.
