Shift premium: $5.25 per hour (previously $5 per hour) over highest rate paid to employees in regular and permanent crew for foremen (increases in 2 steps to $6 per hour). $5.25 per hour (previously $3 per hour) for all work on regularly scheduled second or third shift in shop.
Paid holidays: 10 days
Vacations with pay: 10% of gross wages earned for vacation and statutory holiday pay credits.
Overtime: Time-and-one-half for all work in excess of 10 hours per day, 50 hours per week, or Saturdays. Double time for Sundays and statutory holidays, except for watchmen. Watchmen receive time and one-half for all work on seventh consecutive shift.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $3.45 per hour (previously $3.30 per hour) to Local 183 Members Benefit Fund, Teamsters’ Local Union 230 Members’ Benefit Fund for medical, weekly indemnity, life insurance, dental, prepaid legal benefits. Effective May 1, 2020: $3.60 per hour. Effective May 1, 2021: $3.75 per hour.
Pension: Employer will contribute $0.80 per hour to Local 183 Retiree Benefit Trust Fund, Labourers’ Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada, Teamsters’ Canadian Pension Plan. Effective May 1, 2020: $0.90 per hour. Effective May 1, 2021: $1 per hour.
Severance: All workers will receive 1 hour notice in advance of layoff.
Safety shoes: Rubber boots provided in wet weather at no cost to employees.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer provides safety helmets, rain suits in wet weather, suitable protective clothing at no cost to employees.
Tool allowance: Maximum $300 for loss of tools due to fire or theft resulting from break-in to employer’s locked-up facilities.
Mileage: $0.60 per road kilometre outside of free travel zone.

Editor’s notes: Lockers: Employer will provide adequate place of shelter sufficiently heated and securely locked for lunch and storage of employees’ clothing. Toilets, drinking water: Sanitary toilets will be provided in accordance with Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act. Drinking water and paper cups provided and washing water provide where outlets are available. Parking: Where free parking is not provided by employer, employees will be reimbursed maximum $15 per day. Out-of-town allowance: Maximum $150 per day (previously $100 per day) for room and board to maximum 7 days per week. Benefits fund: Employer will contribute $0.10 per hour for each hour worked to Local 183 Promotional Benefits Fund. Effective May 1, 2020: $0.15 per hour. Effective May 1, 2021: $0.20 per hour. Long-term care fund: Employer will remit $0.60 per hour to long-term care fund.
