Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2020. Ratified on June 27, 2019. Signed on Sept. 24, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective period pay 1, 2019: 1.5%

Effective period pay 1, 2020: 1.5%

Shift premium: $2.75 per hour (previously $2.50 per hour) for employee assigned to on-call rotation.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 5 years, 5 weeks after 10 years, 6 weeks after 20 years. Maximum 50% of time may be carried over under special circumstances.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work in excess of scheduled daily shift or more than an average of 40 hours per week over shift cycle; double time after 3 hours of overtime. May be taken as time off in lieu, maximum 40 hours, and must be taken with 90 days of time being earned.

Sick leave: 12 days per year.

Pension: Employer contributes 10.22%, employee contributes 5.5% into RRSP.

Bereavement leave: 1 work week for death in immediate family (spouse, including common-law or same-sex; parents, including stepparents; children, including stepchildren; siblings, including stepsiblings; in-laws, including mother in-law, father in-law, brother in-law, sister in-law, son in-law, daughter in-law; grandparent, grandchild). 1 day to attend funeral services of someone who is not immediate family member.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.

Probationary period: 90 accumulative working days.

Safety shoes: $300 per year for CSA-approved safety boots or shoes.

Tool allowance: $600 per year for journeyman heavy-duty mechanics.

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 1.5% increase):

Public works operator 1: $23.30 rising 1 step to $23.65

Public works operator 2: $31.37 rising 1 step to $31.84

Public works operator 3: $33.18 rising 1 step to $33.67

Journeyman heavy-duty mechanic 1: $40.92 rising 1 step to $41.53

Journeyman heavy-duty mechanic 2: $42.91 rising 1 step to $43.55

Journeyman heavy-duty mechanic 3: $44.67 rising 1 step to $45.33

Apprentice fourth-year: $36.83 rising 1 step to $37.38

Apprentice third-year: $32.74 rising 1 step to $33.23

Apprentice second-year: $28.64 rising 1 step to $29.07

Apprentice first-year: $24.55 rising 1 step to $24.92

Effective June 1, 2019: $500 lump-sum payment

Effective June 1, 2020: $500 lump-sum payment

Apprentice heavy-duty mechanics (percentage of wages of heavy-duty mechanic 1)

60% in first period of apprenticeship program

70% in second period of apprenticeship program

80% in third period of apprenticeship program

90% in fourth period of apprenticeship program
