Wage adjustments:
Effective 2023: 2%

Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 10 days after 1 year, 15 days after 2 years, 20 days after 7 years, 25 days after 13 years, 30 days after 20 years, 35 days after 25 days.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 7- or 8-hour days or 35- or 40-hour normal workweek. Time may be banked, maximum accumulation of 80 hours and will be paid down to 40 hours on last pay period of year.
Meal allowance: Adequate hot meal, maximum value $15, will be provided if employee is called on to work before 6 a.m. and works into regular workday.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Alberta Health Care and extended health care.
Dental: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums. Coverage of 100% basic services (maximum $2,000); 50% restorative and orthodontic, maximum $2,000.
Vision: Coverage of $500 every 24 months for employees and family members; $500 every 12 months for children.
Sick leave: After 3 months of employment, employee will be entitled to 10 days’ credits, and will accumulate at 1 day per month, maximum accumulation of 30 days.
LTD: Coverage of 66 2/3%, maximum $5,500 per month.
Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, parent, child, stepchild, ward. 3 days for death of legal guardian, parent-in-law, stepparent, sibling, sibling-in-law, child-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren (family members also apply for family of employee’s spouse). 2 additional travel days when employee attends funeral and distance travelled is more than 500 kilometres from Hinton 1-way. 1 day to attend funeral with meaningful role in ceremony such as pallbearer.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months following layoff. 1 year for leaves of absence, excluding maternity and paternal leave.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half or actual time worked at time and one-half, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 800 hours following date of hire (employee who is absent from normally scheduled days of work for more than 10 working days will have days added to period).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for any written and verbal warnings; 18 months for any suspensions.
Severance: In addition to notice or pay in lieu of notice, 3 months’ earnings for first 2 years of employment, plus 1.25 days’ earnings for each month of employment beyond 2 years, after 2 years of employment.
Safety shoes: $300 for 2-year period (with no carryovers of remaining balances after 2 years) when conditions of employment require use of safety boots or shoes. $100 per year for aquatic deck footwear and custodial footwear. Employer will supply appropriate rainwear, coveralls, gloves to outside workers, maintenance, custodial workers. Employer will supply bathing suits for pool employees, to be replaced as required.
