Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024. Signed on Feb. 20, 2022.

Wage adjustments:

Effective July 1, 2021: 1%

Effective July 1, 2022: 1%

Effective July 1, 2023: 1%

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 25 days to start, 30 days after 10 years. Vacation days will not be carried from 1 year to another however, in special situations, and with prior approval of dean, vacation days may be allowed to carry over.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Vision: $400 every 2 years.

Paramedical: 80% up to $700 per year per paramedical practitioner (massage therapist (ordered by doctor), speech therapist, physiotherapist, naturopath, acupuncturist, osteopath, chiropractor, podiatrist, chiropodist).

STD: Coverage of 100% base salary for 6 months; 75% of base salary for additional 6 months.

LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.

AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 1 times base salary, maximum benefit $250,000.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 1 times base salary, maximum benefit $250,000.

Pension: DC plan. Employer contributes 7.5% of earnings, plus 2.5% supplemental contribution. Employee contributes 4.25% (previously 3.75%) of earnings, plus voluntary supplemental contribution of 0 to 3%; effective 2023: 4.75%.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, same-sex partner, son, daughter, children of faculty member’s spouse, children of common-law spouse, children of same-sex partner, stepchildren, ward, brother, sister, father, mother, stepparents). 3 days for death in extended family (father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, grandmother, grandfather, grandparents of faculty member’s spouse, common-law spouse, same-sex partner; parents of stepmother, stepfather). 2 additional days if leave requires extensive travel.

Seniority – recall rights: 2 years from date of layoff.

Probationary period: 3 years.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for records of discipline; 18 months for any letters of counsel which are non-disciplinary in nature.

Severance: 1 month’s base salary per year of employment, maximum 6 months’ salary.

Tenured and tenure-track faculty members

Salary floor: $83,131 rising 2 steps to $84,802

Teaching faculty members

Salary floor: $67,377 rising 2 steps to $68,731

Limited-term faculty members

Salary floor: $67,377 rising 2 steps to $68,731

Editor’s notes: Course releases/stipends: $7,650 (previously $7,575) for faculty members who, in addition to regular duties, are appointed by dean as assistant deans, department chairs, program directors or program coordinators. Effective July 1, 2023: $7,725. Hearing aids: $600 every 2 years.
