Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022. Signed on July 1, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2019: 1.75%
Effective July 1, 2020: 1.75%

Vacations with pay: 1 month for each academic year. Unused vacation cannot be carried over from academic year to academic year, unless it is necessary for operation of academic unit. 22 days after 1 year, 25 days after 6 years for member with regular librarian appointment (vacation entitlement will be taken by Dec. 31 of year following year in which it was earned, unless otherwise agreed). Supplementary vacation entitlements for librarians with regular appointment to be granted once in each 5-year period after becoming eligible: 5 days after 10 years; 10 days after 15 years; 15 days after 20 years; 20 days after 25 years (long-service vacation must be used within 5 years after it is awarded, and if not used during that period, it will be forfeited).
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Paramedical: $30 per-visit maximum for first 12 visits.
Sick leave: 6 months paid.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage that commences 6 months from date that employee becomes ill or disabled.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 2 weeks for death in immediate family (spouse, partner, child, parent, sibling).
Seniority – recall rights: 3 years.
Probationary period: 2 years for regular librarian appointments.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 3 years, except in case of suspension or discipline related to sexualized violence.
Severance: 6 months’ pay for employee holding limited-term faculty or librarian appointment; 1 month’s salary for each year of service, minimum 6 months’ salary, maximum 24 months of salary, for employee holding regular faculty appointment or regular librarian appointment.

Performance-pay increments
Faculty: $1,000 rising 1 step to $1,500

Editor’s notes: Outstanding performance recognition: $2,000, in addition to CPI and PPI, for eligible faculty members who are awarded OPR; $1,800, in addition to CPI and PPI, for eligible librarian members who are awarded OPR. Promotion recognition award: $5,000 for eligible faculty members who are promoted to associate or professor; $4,000 for eligible librarian members who are promoted to librarian 3 or 4. Tuition scholarship: Employer will provide $200,000 per year to association for administration of tuition scholarship program for members and members whose dependants are taking degree credit courses at University of Victoria. Revenue sharing upon commercialization: If employee retains ownership of intellectual property (IP) and does not request assistance of university in commercializing IP, then if net financial benefit for any individual employee is greater than $10,000 in any given year (previously $5,000 in any given year), employee will receive 80%, employer will receive 20% of any amount above $10,000; 50% for employee, employer if IP protection is sought and employer assists employee in commercialization. Indigenous recruitment support fund: Employer will provide $ 355,016 on July 1, 2020; $ 362,987 on July 1, 2021, to increasing number of Indigenous faculty and students at UVic by developing recruitment strategies and programs.
