Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2022. Signed on June 13, 2022.
Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for library assistant who assume responsibility for work location when no circulation supervisor or assistant circulation supervisor are on duty. $1.25 per hour for straight-time hours worked on Sundays. $0.50 per hour for hours worked after 6 p.m.
Paid holidays: 13 days.
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month to start, 15 days or 6% after 2 years, 20 days or 8% after 7 years, 25 days or 10% after 16 years, 30 days or 12% after 20 years. Employee may carry over 1 week of accrued vacation time into next calendar year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 7 hours per day or 35 hours per week. Double time for all hours worked after 10 hours per day or 42 hours per week. Time may be banked, maximum 14 hours.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage for basic services 90%; major restorative services 60%; orthodontics 50% maximum $3,500 (previously $2,500) per member, spouse or dependant.
Vision: Maximum $500 (previously $400) for eligible expenses associated with vision care every 24 months, includes maximum $75 reimbursement for eye exams.
Paramedical: Coverage of $500 per year, per practitioner for acupuncturist, chiropractor, massage practitioner, physiotherapist, podiatrist, psychologist, speech-language pathologist (excluding appliances and tray fees).
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month or 18 days per year. May be accumulated, maximum 120 days.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: B.C. Municipal Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, mother, father, brother, sister, children, stepchildren, parents-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepparents, common-law spouse, grandparents, grandchildren. 2 additional days for travel or making funeral arrangements when necessary. 1 day for death of sister-in-law, brother-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months after layoffs (period will be extended by 1 month for each month in which employee performs casual and temporary work, maximum recall period for any employee will be 36 months from initial layoff date).
Probationary period: 3 months for full-time employees; 60 shifts or 6 months, whichever is less, for part-time employees.
Mileage: $0.50 per kilometre for return trip from place of residence to work location for no-avail shift for employees who agree to work discretionary hours which have gone to no-avail at work locations outside selected locations.
