Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 13, 2020: 1.7%
Effective Jan. 13, 2021: 2%
Shift premium: $1.25 per hour for all hours worked on midnight shift (starting at 11 p.m.) and afternoon shift (starting at 3 p.m.). Group leaders receive $0.35 per hour above current level of pay.
Paid holidays: 10 days plus 6 or 7 days over Christmas period.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for any hours worked on Monday to Friday over normal 7.5-hour shift (providing full shift is worked) and first 5 hours of Saturday shift. Double time for any hours worked more than 12 between Monday and Friday, any hours worked over 5 on Saturday; any hours worked between 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 p.m. Sunday. If Saturday is worked in lieu of normal work day, then it is paid at straight time. Hours worked by midnight-shift employee who comes in early in Sunday (prior to 11 p.m. Saturday) will be paid double time for hours prior to 11 p.m.
Meal allowance: Meal ticket voucher of $5 for employees required to work 4 or more hours of overtime immediately after completion of shift without prior notice (voucher will expire after 48 hours and be 1-time usage voucher).
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage providing major medical, drugs for employees and dependants.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of basic dental and orthodontic care for employees and dependants.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of eye exams ($85 every 24 months) and prescription eyeglasses or contact lens ($300 every 24 months) .
Paramedical: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $500 per year for chiropractic; $550 per year for osteopath, podiatrist, massage therapy, naturopath, physiotherapy, acupuncture, laser eye surgery (paramedical flex-care).
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: Payment for first day of accident or hospitalization.
STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 60% of weekly earnings from fourth day of sickness up to 39 weeks for each separate disability.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 60% of base wage after expiry of accident and sickness benefits.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $50,000 for regular full-time employees.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $60,000 for regular full-time employees. Employee-paid option for up to $100,000.
Pension: DC plan: Employer contributes 2% to 3.25% of employee’s earnings plus 50% of employee’s contribution up to 2% of employee’s earnings.
Bereavement leave: 4 paid days for death of spouse, parent, child, sibling, parent-in-law, sibling-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, child-in-law, grandchild.
Seniority – recall rights: Greater of 24 months or length of service.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay when called back after leaving work.
Probationary period: 90 days during period of 6 consecutive months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for less severe discipline, 24 months for more severe discipline.
Severance: 3 weeks’ pay for each completed year of service, or part thereof, maximum of 65 weeks’ pay.
Tool allowance: Employer will reimburse all skilled trades maximum $525 per year, including taxes, for job-related tools to facilitate skilled trades replacing worn or broken tools. Heavy/power, specialized tools will be made available to skilled trades as required for particular task and tools will remain company property.
