Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2016, to March 31, 2020. Signed on May 20, 2016.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2017: 2.7%
Effective April 1, 2018: 2.7%
Effective April 1, 2019: 3%
Shift premium: $2.25 per hour (previously $2 per hour) for all hours worked between 6 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. $2 per hour (previously $1.75 per hour) for all hours worked on a Saturday or Sunday.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 7 years, 5 weeks after 16 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Maximum one-half vacation allotment may be carried over to next year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after regular hours. Double time thereafter. Double time for all hours worked on second scheduled day off.
Meal allowance: $18 when working more than 3 hours of overtime, except where free meals are provided. $18 for each subsequent 4-hour period.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for medical services plan.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for dental plan.
Sick leave: For 37.5-per-week workers: 9.38 hours per month, maximum 75 hours. For 40-per-week workers: 10 hours per month, maximum 80 hours.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for basic coverage.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for basic coverage.
Life insurance: Employer pays 63% of premiums, employee pays 37% of premiums for basic coverage.
Pension: Employees will enroll in the B.C. Municipal Pension Plan and will contribute as the plan requires.
Bereavement leave: Number of hours in employee’s work week off for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse resident with the employee, fiancée, child, child of common-law spouse, stepchild, ward of the employee, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, grandchild of spouse, grandchild of common-law spouse, relative residing in employee’s household).
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ overtime pay.
Probationary period: 6 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Severance: For first layoff: 2 weeks’ pay for first year of service, 1 week’s pay for subsequent years. On second and subsequent layoffs: 1 week’s pay per year of service.
Safety shoes: $175 reimbursement (previously $150).
Mileage: Reimbursement at the Victoria Airport Authority travel rate.

Editor’s notes: Wash-up time: Maximum 10 minutes will be permitted before the end of the working day and before the lunch period. Standby pay: $25 (previously $22) for each 8 consecutive hours or portion thereof. Parking: Employer will provide parking at no cost to employees working at Victoria International Airport. Physical fitness requirement: Employees will be given 1 hour per shift for physical fitness training and must meet a physical fitness standard within 60 days.
