Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2025. Signed on April 1, 2020.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2022: 2%
Effective April 1, 2023: 2.5%
Effective April 1, 2024: 3%
Paid holidays: 13 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: 9.375 hours per month after 1 year, 12.5 hours per month after 7 years, 15.625 hours per month after 16 years, 18.75 hours per month after 25 years for 37.5-hour average work week. 10 hours per month after 1 year, 13.333 hours per month after 7 years, 16.666 hours per month after 16 years, 18.750 hours per month after 25 years for 40-hour average work week.
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours worked in excess of normal scheduled daily hours; double time thereafter. Time and one-half for first 4 hours worked on first day of rest; double time thereafter. Double time for work on subsequent days of rest.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 9.375 hours per month for employees who average 37.5 hours per week; 10 hours per month for employees who average 40 hours per week.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 63% of premiums, employee pays 37% of premiums.
Pension: B.C. Municipal Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: Number of hours employee works in 1 week for death in immediate family (father, mother, alternatively stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse resident with employee, fiancée, child, child of common-law spouse, stepchild, ward of employee, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, grandchild of spouse, grandchild of common-law spouse, relative residing in employee’s household). 1) day for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent of spouse (including common-law spouse).
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year after layoffs.
Call-in pay: Greater of 3 hours’ pay at applicable overtime rate or applicable rate of overtime compensation for time worked if work is not contiguous to employee’s normal hours of work.
Probationary period: 6 months.
Severance: On first layoff, 2 weeks’ pay for first year of continuous service; 1 additional week’s pay for each additional complete year of continuous service. On second or subsequent layoff, 1 week’s pay for each year of service, less any period in respect employee was granted severance pay.
Safety shoes: $200 (previously $175) on first payroll in January of each year for CSA-approved safety footwear.
