Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2021 to Aug. 31 , 2024. Signed on Nov. 1, 2021. (First agreement)

Shift premium: $75, in lieu of notice, for employees who are given term assignment with less than 5 days’ notice prior to beginning of assignment; 3 hours pay, in lieu of 7 days’ notice, for emergency assignments.

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 4 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 20 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after regular scheduled shift or after 40 hours per week averaged over number of weeks applicable to employee’s averaging, modified or modified maximum work schedule.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums (previously employer pays 100% of premiums). Effective September 2023: employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums. For all employees hired after ratification, employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Pension: Employees will contribute 3% of earnings (matched by employer) to DC plan; 4% (matched by employer) after 7 years.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, common-law partner, employee’s father and mother and spouse, common-law partner of father, mother, employee’s children and children of employee’s spouse or common-law partner, employee’s grandchildren, employee’s brothers and sisters, grandfather and grandmother of employee, father and mother of spouse, common-law partner of employee and spouse, common-law partner of father, mother, any relative of employee who resides permanently with employee.

Seniority – recall rights: Lesser of period equal to seniority, maximum 1 year with less than 10 years of service; maximum 2 years with more than 10 years of service.

Probationary period: 2 months from first day of work following most recent date of hire. For more than 5 working days during 12-month period, employer may extend period by number of days employee was absent from work.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for written caution notices dealing with attendance and punctuality; 24 months for reprimand notices dealing with attendance and punctuality and for all other written caution or reprimand notices.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide $350 once each year CSA-approved footwear, outerwear, clothing. Employer will supply 1 pair of work gloves each year to all employees. Employer will supply 1 hearing-protection headset, respirator, safety glasses and safety vest to each employee.

Editor’s notes: Per diems: Employee who is overnighting away from assigned base at location that employer does not provide meals will be entitled to meal allowance, provided they are away during all or any part of meal period: $20 for breakfast; $20 for lunch; $30 for dinner. Personal days: Maximum 5 days per year after 3 months of employment (3 days pay, 2 days unpaid to start; 4 days pay, 1 day unpaid after 5 years of service). On call: $2 per hour at straight-time for each hour on call and not at work.
