Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2028. Signed on April 1, 2023.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2024: 3.25%
Effective April 1, 2025: 3.25%
Effective April 1, 2026: 3%
Effective April 1, 2027: 3%
Shift premium: $2 per hour to all employees who work alternate shift schedules (second, third shifts) that are not designated day shifts.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 80 hours or 5% to start, 120 hours or 6% after 5 years, 160 hours or 8% after 12 years, 200 hours or 10% after 19 years, 240 hours or 12% after 26 years.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Pension: Employee may make basic contributions between 2% and 9% of base pay. Employee may make voluntary contributions up to 5% of base pay. Employer will match contribution based on years of service.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of family member (spouse, domestic partner, legal guardian, child, parent, sibling, grandparent, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, domestic partner family members of same categories, blended family members and in-laws of same categories, adult who stood in loco parentis to employee during childhood. Employees may use paid or unpaid time off, if more time is needed.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 consecutive months after layoff.
Probationary period: 3 calendar months of full-time employment (period may be extended by employer where it believes employee may be able to improve performance to acceptable levels).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for written warnings; 30 months for suspensions.
Safety shoes: $300 for CSA-approved safety boots once every 24 months.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, welding helmets, winter wear (as required),

Editor’s notes: Prescription safety glasses: Maximum $250 each 24 months for 1 pair of prescription safety glasses. Humanity fund: Employer will deduct $20 from wages of each employee for USW charitable fund. Deduction will be made from pay period before April 1 of each year.
