Shift premium: $1 per hour for steward w/ tool box 1. $1 per hour for steward w/ tool box 2. $1.25 per hour for steward w/ tool box 3. $2.25 per hour for chief steward w/ tool box 1. $2.50 per hour for chief steward w/ tool box 2. $3 per hour for chief steward w/ tool box 3. $2 per hour for employees who possess 2 or more applicable journeyperson or applicable Red Seal tickets and employer has intent to use both tickets or perform tasks under both trades.
Paid holidays: 11 days. All employees employed in construction will receive holiday pay of 4% of base wage rate for all hours worked in lieu of holidays (5% for employees not employed in construction industry or who are employed in maintenance industries).
Vacations with pay: All employees will receive 6% of base wage rate for all hours worked as vacation pay.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 regular straight-time hours per day and 40 regular straight-time hours per week and when employee works on any regularly scheduled day off.
Meal allowance: Employees who work beyond 12 hours in 1 day will be provided with additional one-half hour paid meal period and hot meal will be provided by employer. If meal cannot be provided, $25 may be given in lieu.
Medical benefits: CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund. Employees are eligible to receive coverage on first of month following 350 hours worked.
Dental: Coverage of 100% up to $2,000 per person per year for basic services; 50% up to $2,000 per person per year for major services; 50% up to $3,000 lifetime maximum per child younger than 19 for orthodontic.
Vision: Coverage of $300 per year for younger than 21; $300 every 2 years for 21 years old and older.
Paramedical: Maximum $50 per visit for massage therapy.
AD&D: Coverage of $100,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000.
Pension: CLAC group RSP and CLAC DC pension plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, child, legal dependent, mother, father, brother, sister. 3 days for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, grandchild.
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours of pay at appropriate rate.
Probationary period: 90 days.
Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear CSA-approved safety hats and CSA-approved non-prescription safety glasses supplied by employer. Employer will supply employees with all required PPE excluding prescription safety eyewear, but including fire-retardant coveralls if required and raingear when required.
Tool allowance: Specialty tools will be provided by employer. If welder breaks electric beveling band crawler while in use for employer, employer will make necessary repairs for regular wear and tear.
