Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2022 to Oct. 31, 2023. Signed on April 20, 2022.

Paid holidays: 12 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Full-time employees who have qualified for holidays may elect to bank maximum 20 holiday days. Once banked, employees may book off maximum 10 days per year (days may only be booked off between Oct. 1 and April 30 in each year).

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 8 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 14 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 20 years.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Dental: Coverage of $2,000 per year basic and major combined.

Vision: Coverage of $250 every 24 months.

Life insurance: Coverage of $75,000 (previously $50,000).

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, son, daughter, brother, sister, father, mother (including stepchildren, stepparents) father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparents (including in-laws), son in-laws, daughter in-laws, brother in-laws, sister-in-laws, grandchildren, any relative residing in same household. 1 additional day, without pay, will be allowed for out-of-town travel more than 200 kilometres (1-way) if required.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 consecutive months following layoff.

Probationary period: First 360 worked hours.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for disciplinary action charged on personnel record.

Uniforms/clothing: Employees whose work requires them to wear protective devices may obtain following from employer as required including but not limited to: eye protective devices (including prescription safety eyewear if required), safety vests, overalls, hearing protection, masks, gloves. Full-time drivers will be provided with: 1 spring jacket; 1 winter jacket with warm liner; 2 pairs of pants; 6 shirts (long- or short-sleeved); 2 neck ties; 1 hat; 2 employer summer-issue golf shirts (Canada Day to Labour Day) for (multi-day and school bus drivers only).

Sample rates of hourly pay (current):

Coach: $27.35
Mini-coach: $27.35
School bus/van: $23.52
Non-driving: $22.25
Airport shuttle: $19.40

Editor’s notes: Paid education leave: Employer will pay $0.05 per hour for each hour worked for each bargaining unit member into special fund for paid education leave. Training: Employer will cover course fees, registration, expenses, wages, at non-driving rate, maximum 8 hours, for each health and safety committee member to attend 1 day of mutually agreed safety training each year. Meal allowances: $10 for breakfast; $15 for lunch; $20 dinner for driver spending night away from home depot on company employer for each meal required, maximum 3 meals per day. Cleaning allowance: Each driver will receive uniform-cleaning allowance after completing 10 working days by submitting voucher with dates worked clearly listed and employee will be reimbursed, maximum $10. Medical certification: Maximum $125 per examination for drivers who are required as condition of employment and continued employment as driver to pass medical examination as specified by ICBC.
