Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022. Signed on May 1, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
(For employees currently being paid more than rates set out)
Effective May 1, 2019: $0.75 per hour
Effective May 1, 2020: $0.75 per hour
Effective May 1, 2021: $1.50 per hour
Shift premium: $50 if contractor fails to comply with delivery requirements and pieceworker is required to pick up materials from contractor’s shop.
Vacations with pay: Vacation pay for all hourly-termed employees will be paid at 6% if holidays are not paid; 4% if holidays are paid, of gross wages earned.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all Saturday work; double time on Sunday (provided employee has worked regular 44-hour workweek).
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute 15% of total gross amount of pieceworker’s invoice to trust fund jointly trusteed by representatives of Trim Association of Ontario and Carpenters and Allied Workers, Local 27, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Effective May 1, 2020: 17%. Effective May 1, 2021: 18%.
Probationary period: 90 days.
Uniforms/clothing: Every worker will, as condition of employment, own and wear suitable protective footwear, other personal protective equipment and be required to wear safety helmet of type approved by Construction Safety Association, required in normal course of duties.
