Wage adjustments:
Effective Nov. 9, 2019: 2.4%
Effective Nov. 9, 2020: 2.4%
Effective Nov. 9, 2021: 2.3%
Shift premium: $0.60 per hour for afternoon shift. $0.75 per hour for night shift.
Paid holidays: 9 days, plus 3 paid floating holidays during Christmas shutdown.
Vacations with pay: 10 days after 1 year, 15 days after 5 years, 20 days after 10 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked greater than 40 in workweek; all hours worked on Saturday. Double time for all hours worked on Sunday or company-observed holiday.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Children only $1,500 lifetime maximum, paid at 50%, for orthodontics.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $400 every 24 months. $75 every 2 years for eye exams.
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 67% of weekly earnings up to 17 weeks, maximum $950.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employee-funded retirement savings plan. Maximum $1,400 per year contribution. Effective Jan. 1, 2021: $1,500 per year. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $1,600 per year.
Bereavement leave: 5 paid days for death of spouse, child, stepchild, parent. 3 paid days for death of stepparent, grandchild, sibling, stepsibling, child-in-law, grandparent, spouse’s stepparent, child, grandchild, sibling, stepsibling, grandparent, child-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 36 months for continuous layoff.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours when called in not in connection with regular shift.
Probationary period: 90 days, providing employee has actually worked 60 days within that period. If employee has not obtained 60 working days in first 90 days of probationary period, employee’s probationary period may be extended until employee completes 60 days worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.
Safety shoes: $150 CSA-approved safety shoes once every 12 months through employer-directed supplier; $300 every 12 months for skilled trades, set-up technicians.
Tool allowance: $500 per year to maintenance technicians for tools directly related to their job.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 2.3% increase):
Assembler: $21.50 rising 1 step to $22
Production material handler/shipping receiving material handler/material cycle counter: $22 rising 1 step to $22.50
Quality technician/production team leader/shipping team leader/receiving team leader: $22.60 rising 1 step to $23.10
Resin processor: $23.60 rising 1 step to $24.10
Set-up technician: $25.60 rising 1 step to $26.10
Mould technician/maintenance technician: $38.27 rising 1 step to $39.02
Maintenance team leader: $39.27 rising 1 step to $40.02
Editor’s notes: Tuition reimbursement: Active seniority employees will be eligible to participate in Yanfeng Automotive Interior Systems Tuition Assistance program. Prescription safety glasses: Employer will pay for 1 pair of prescription safety glasses every 24 months, purchased through employer-directed supplier. If prescription changes before 24 months have elapsed, employer will provide replacement. Paid education leave: Employer will pay $4,000 each year of contract, effective Jan. 1, 2020, into special fund for paid education leave.
