Renewal agreement: Effective Oct. 20, 2021 to Oct. 19, 2024. Signed on Feb. 3, 2023.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Oct. 20, 2021: 3%
Effective Oct. 20, 2022: 3%
Effective Oct. 20, 2023: 2.5%
Shift premium: $2.50 per hour (previously $2.25 per hour) for all hours worked, including overtime hours, between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. (premium will not be paid for hours worked between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.). $2.50 per hour (previously $2.25 per hour) for work on Saturday or Sunday. $3.27 per hour to employees who perform supervisory duties.
Paid holidays: 13 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month to start, 1 2/3 days per month after 5 years, 2 1/12 days per month after 11 years, 2 1/2 days per month after 31 years. Unused portion of leave will be carried over into following vacation year.
Overtime: Paid at time and one-half. Double time for each hour of overtime worked after 16 hours’ work in any 24-hour period or after 8 hours’ work on employee’s first day of rest. Employee who reports for overtime work on day of rest will be paid for time actually worked or minimum of 3 hours’ pay at applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater.
Meal allowance: $15 for employee who works 3 or more hours of overtime. Additional meal of $15 for each 4-hour period of overtime worked thereafter.
Sick leave: 1 1/4 days for each month.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse resident with employee, child, child of common-law spouse, stepchild, ward of employee, grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, relative residing in employee’s household, any person for whom employee has legal responsibilities.
Call-in pay: Appropriate compensation for any time worked or 4 hours’ pay at straight-time rate, if period worked is not contiguous to employee’s normal hours of work and they were not notified of such overtime requirement prior to completing last period of work.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for any document or written statement related to disciplinary action.
Severance: 2 weeks’ pay for first year of employment; 1 week’s pay for each additional year of employment on first layoff. 1 week’s pay for each year of employment on second or subsequent layoff.
Safety shoes: $250 every 2 years or at employee’s choice, 50% of allowance every year for CSA-approved footwear.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide work shirts (2 long-sleeved and 2 short-sleeved once per year and replaced as required); work pants (3 once per year and replaced as required); raingear (1 set provided initially and replaced as required); high-visibility winter parka (1 provided initially and replaced as required); winter coveralls (2 pairs per year and replaced as required); shop coveralls (2 pairs per year and replaced as required); sunglasses (1 pair initially and replaced as required providing 100% UV protection).

Hiring rate: $22.52 rising 1 step to $23.08
Rate at day 1 of year 2: $24.71 rising 1 step to $25.33
Rate at day 1 of year 3: $26.88 rising 1 step to $27.55
Rate at day 1 of year 4: $29.06 rising 1 step to $29.79
