Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2014, to Aug. 31, 2017. Ratified on March 31, 2015. Signed on March 31, 2015.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Sept. 1, 2015: 1.5%

Effective Sept. 1, 2016: 1.5%

Vacations with pay: 4% of wages, included as part of employees’ regular monthly salary.

Medical benefits: Employer to pay the administrative cost and cost of eligible claims for employees enrolled in the ASO Group Drug plan for 5 months after the expiration of the employees’ graduate assistantship.

Dental: Employer to pay the administrative cost and cost of eligible claims for employees enrolled in the ASO Group Dental Plan for 5 months after the expiration of the employees’ graduate assistantship.

Vision: Employer to pay the administrative cost and cost of eligible claims for employees enrolled in the ASO Group Vision Care Plan for 5 months after the expiration of the employees’ graduate assistantship.

Bereavement leave: Paid leave for up to 4/35 of graduate assistantship following the death of an immediate family member.

Mileage: 45¢ per km.

Sample rates of pay (current, after 1.5% increase):

Graduate assistants: $10,415 per 270-hour graduate assistantship

Editor’s notes: GA financial assistance: $840 in the fall and winter terms for domestic students, rising to $888 in the fall of 2016. $1,150 in the fall and winter terms for international students, rising to $1,295 in the fall of 2016. $3,000 for employees registered full-time in the summer. Childcare: Employer will contribute $40,000 to operating costs of the Student Centre Childcare facility. Transexual transition leave: Employees who provide a certificate from a medical practitioner confirming the employee requires a leave of absence in order to undergo medical procedures related to a physical change from one gender to another will suffer no reduction in pay for up to 8/35 of the period of the graduate assistantship. Maternity leave: Paid leave for 17/35 of the graduate assistantship. Adoption leave: Paid leave for 12/35 of the graduate assistantship.
